The Nissan NP300 pickup debuted in 1997. The vehicle is a utility version of the well-known Navara. Until 2014, both models were produced in parallel, after which the Japanese brand offered one pickup instead, which is offered under two names depending on the country of sale.

The pickup, introduced in 1997, was initially developed at Nissan Design International, the brand's California division. After 2005, only one power unit remained in the engine range - an in-line diesel "four" with a volume of 2.5 liters and a turbocharger. Since the pickup had a classic layout for such equipment, it "by default" had a rear-wheel drive. More expensive modifications differed by part-time all-wheel drive with mechanical connection of the front axle.

Updated version

The pickup, presented in 2014, retained the concept and technical features of its predecessor, completely changing externally, differing in modern design. The body is still mounted on a frame, which has changed its structure and manufacturing technology, becoming lighter and stronger. The engine range consists of a 2.5-liter gasoline and diesel engine. The 170-horsepower gasoline engine is borrowed from the Roque crossover. The diesel engine is available in two versions - 163 or 190 horsepower, which was shared with the Frontier. The suspension layout has been inherited from the predecessor. At the rear, springs and a solid axle are still used, and at the front - independent suspension. The drive, depending on the version, can be rear or part-time all-wheel drive, but with electronic control and the possibility of connecting the front axle on the go. The lineup includes versions with a "one and a half" and "double" cab, as well as with a cargo platform with two width options.
