Nissan Dayz has been present in the production lineup of the Japanese brand since 2013. The car is a classic "kei-car" intended for the domestic market of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Initial version

The car, which debuted in 2013, was a copy of the Mitsubishi eK, produced at the NMKV joint venture, created by two Japanese companies specifically for the production of "kei-cars". It differed from the "original" in the design of the front part, which was brought in line with the current corporate style of Nissan at that time. It was available in a much larger number of trim levels, including the "sporty" Rider. The engine range consisted of one 660 "cube" engine, which in the "atmospheric" version developed 49 hp, and with a turbocharger - a maximum of 64 hp allowed for such cars. In both cases, the power unit worked in "pair" with a variator. In the "base" the car was front-wheel drive, and for an additional fee, a four-wheel drive system with a clutch on the rear axle was offered.

Second generation

In 2019, the joint venture began producing a second-generation car. It used a new platform and mechanical components. The body architecture did not change, it was still a 5-door hatchback with a high roof, but with a more aggressive windshield slope and a rising window line on the rear doors. The salon underwent a similar revision, which in the expensive trim levels received a two-color design, differing even in the base versions by the use of higher-quality materials. The engine range still included a 660-cubic-inch petrol engine in two versions - with a turbocharger and without it. The "atmospheric" version became a bit more powerful, developing 51 hp. A modification with an electric power plant appeared in the lineup, where the rotation of the wheels is carried out through an electric motor from the all-wheel drive versions of the Nissan Note with a capacity of 64 hp. But the torque is not limited and is 195 Nm. The installation of the hybrid power plant entailed a change in the chassis. Since the platform for "kei-cars" has significant width limitations, it was necessary to make the battery narrow and long. As a result, a Panhard rod suspension had to be used at the rear, which reduced the ground clearance by 10 mm - to 135 mm.
