Tyre reviews Dunlop Winter Maxx SJ8 159

Operation in Salekhard. From -45 to +6. Soft. Silent. Hold the road perfectly. Minimal braking distance. No need for studs. Bought a grown-up and dug into the snow. With these tires, remembered that my car is a SUV. They pull out of such holes that it's scary to look back afterwards. A great budget option.

I'm a fan of Dunlop winter tires in general and especially non-studded ones. Before, I drove a Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.0L (2010 model year), with Dunlop Grandtrek SJ6 225/75 R16 tires. The advantages: very fond of snow in any form (up to 25-30 cm). Roughly decent on mud. Brakes well everywhere, except on ice. The disadvantages: does not like ice, just like any

A soft and quiet tire (the bead is, however, a bit loose). In the city and in mild weather, I'm happy with the non-studded tires :-) With the others, I drive carefully. Never let me down when driving like that - no understeer in turns, no wheelspin. It's just like that... One minus: starts poorly on a slippery, icy road, although, then, acceleration is confident. There's a concern that braking may be inefficient at low speeds

Good +/- price-quality ratio (we take and test the best for our fleet: Good, Mich, Pirelli, Conti, Yoko, Nokian, Bridg). It would be better if they braked better on wet roads and were more aggressive in corners... But on snow, everything is fine. The edges are NOT polished from the factory: the sharp lateral lamellas predictably catch, but do not allow racing on ice / skidding / ruts !!! and this is without studs. They grip normally in snowdrifts (we all have 4WD cars). Wear is economical, 5-10% more on the edge, and with normal driving, they are close to "eternal": in 10-12 years, there are no cracks (just store them correctly), but the sidewalls are NOT stiff and can be folded...
Noise has been improved compared to the previous SJ-6, but they still sound above 120 km/h, are light, and fuel-efficient (they roll without gas, not resisting much, and hum at the same time). The material is of high quality: as an indicator, they do not become hard even at -30°C, ours are from Japan, and the Asians are growing and not sparing rubber + technology, due to which the dense effort (informative on the steering wheel). With softness, the wear is not fatal, they are well-made (out of 300 tires, not a single defective one). In our region, the roads are average: in general, out of 100 tires, only 2-3 blowouts occur, and they withstand punctures at approximately 75 km/h (this cord stiffness almost does not reduce comfort). In winter, take a narrower width (if there is frequent ice / skidding - then even narrower) for pressure on the road and a bullet flight through a snowdrift (but not narrower than the disk).
You can buy them, even used !!! but try to sell them before 60% wear (the last layers of the tread are harder and noisier)

Great soft tire, in winter in Khabarovsk it's just a song... Recommend. Of course, in summer you need a tread.

Choice: thoroughly chose winter tires for his Ford Kuga on R17 235/55! Needed a gum, did not like studs, they annoyed me with noise in the city. The result was such that - either Toyo ObsERVE, or Bridgestone, or Dunlop. I was ruled out by the first due to not very good reviews, Bridgestone fell out because of high price and could not find at a favorable price. I left my choice on Dun

DUNLOP SJ 8 265/70/16 on a SangYoung Rexton 2011. Came with a BF Goodrich A/C Cruiser sticker when I bought the car. I used it for two seasons, thinking I'd get three out of it, but no such luck - one tread block went bald, and the others look like they're good for the garden. After reading reviews, I decided to try the DUNLOP, and I've been using it for

Blows a bit, not had winter for a while. Generally pleased with it though. Loses out to studded tyres more mentally. On ice it's real, but not critical.

I run on snow chains all year round. No complaints. Very good traction, therefore I don't change them. The previous SJ7s lasted three years for 60,000 km and wore very little, but then started to wear, the rear axle started to hum and vibrate. I wanted to balance them, but we saw that it was time to change them. This set has passed the summer and the beginning of winter - stable on both wet and dry, brakes as they should. Price

Worthy tyre with good durability, low noise level, predictable braking distance. It behaved confidently on snowy roads. At the snow drift or black ice the ABS was only working on the cobblestone. Excellent price/quality ratio.
