Development

Its advantage was versatility, which allowed it to be used as a city or commercial vehicle. Gasoline engines - 2.0, 2.4, and 3.0 liters, and diesel - 2.5 and 2.8 liters. Together with them, there were 5-speed manual transmissions and 4-position automatic transmissions. To control the four-wheel drive, the Easy Select system was used, and a differential lock was also installed.

The fourth generation, production of which began in 2005, became even more comfortable and versatile. In terms of handling, the model was compared to a passenger car, and the suspension and four-wheel drive provided the ability to drive on rough terrain. The power units were 2.4 and 3.5-liter gasoline engines, as well as 2.5 and 3.2-liter diesel engines. The feature of the latter was the Common Rail fuel injection system. This generation became one of the most successful, as evidenced by the production of more than 1.4 million units.

Present Day

In 2015, a new generation was released, which became even more sporty, comfortable, and "enduring". The car was still based on a frame, and its body received local reinforcements, which increased the overall level of safety. Among the equipment, there was a touch-sensitive multimedia screen, a rearview camera, a stability control system, a braking assistant, a hill start assistant, and a modern four-wheel drive system with electronic control. All this increased the popularity of the pickup truck, making it the most versatile vehicle for everyday use and off-road driving.
