Шины на Mitsubishi Space Runner (Митсубисхи)
Mitsubishi Space Runner was produced from 1991 to 1999 and became one of the first compact minivans that were perceived not as family "boxes", but as a hybrid of a city hatchback and a small van. The idea was to give the driver the usual dynamics of a passenger car, but at the same time leave space for the movement of a large company or sports equipment. Therefore, engineers bet on a lightweight body, simple and reliable power elements, and a fairly "passenger" landing, due to which the Space Runner feels more sporty than most minivans of those years.First iteration
Appearing in 1991, the Space Runner was released on the same platform as the compact Mitsubishi of those years, but with an improved spatial reinforcement of the body. In the area of the racks, wider profiles were applied, and the power beam under the front panel was made thicker - it was this that gave the car more stability in turns, which many owners paid attention to. In front, there were McPherson struts, and in the back - a simple, but durable semi-dependent beam, which effortlessly carried a large weight of transported luggage and was not afraid of bad roads.
The gasoline engines of most released instances are predominantly in-line "fours" 1.8 and 2.0. They were equipped with fuel injection, modified cooling channels, and a low level of vibration due to modified mounts. Transmissions - mechanical 5-speed or automatic 4-speed, with logic tuned more for a calm pace, but without a feeling of delay in switching.
Inside, the Space Runner was made "honest": panels made of dense plastic with a matte texture, quite neat inserts under the fabric on the doors, a transforming sofa that could be folded or completely removed. Sound insulation was not present everywhere, but the reinforced floor sections and well-fitted seals made the salon quieter than can be expected from a compact monovolume.
The configurations differed in practicality: air conditioning, airbags, anti-lock braking system, heated mirrors, headlight adjusters. The car was equipped with 14 and 5-inch wheel disks: steel on the base versions and cast on the expensive ones, and the alloy ones had a strengthened spoke profile, designed for prolonged loads with a full load of the car.
Second iteration
In 1995, the Space Runner was modernized. The body rigidity was increased, the suspension was reconfigured: other rack supports were added, the shock absorbers were modified, the roll on the waves was reduced, and the minivan became slightly more "dense" on the high-speed arc. Improved brakes with larger ventilated discs appeared, and in the top configurations, stabilization systems began to appear.
The salon was distinguished by improved finishing materials, some of which had a soft surface, the central console was made wider, and the texture of the seats was also changed - the fabric became denser, less prone to fading and less "slippery". On expensive versions, they installed an "electropackage", an updated audio system with support for new formats, an improved heater, and climate control.
In addition, the size range of wheels changed - 15 or 16 inches, depending on the configuration. Moreover, this was due not so much to the increased dimensions of the car, but to the increased load on the hub units. That's why the selection of tires and disks for the Space Runner today requires attention, especially in terms of compliance with the load index and profile height with the car's characteristics. It's easier to avoid errors by contacting the online store "Mosavtoshina", where you can quickly check the compatibility of wheel parameters with a specific model modification.
Advantages of selecting tires on our website for Mitsubishi Space Runner:
- when selecting, the design features of the minivan of both generations are taken into account, including the different rigidity of the suspension and the recommended load indices;
- both standard and reinforced 14-16-inch disks with accurate parameters of offset and central hole are offered;
- the recommendation system does not just select the size, but analyzes the type of operation, offering an optimal profile and tread pattern;
- new buyers receive starting discounts, and regular ones - cumulative, which makes regular replacement of seasonal sets significantly more profitable.
