Lada Granta Sport is a charged version of the compact model of the same name. The car made its debut in 2017, but due to low demand, its production was discontinued just a year later, and in 2023 it was resumed.

Initial version

The car presented in 2017 externally differed favorably from the standard version. First of all, bumpers made in a more aggressive style. The sports image was complemented by a neat spoiler on the trunk lid. Another feature of this modification was 16-inch wheels with Pirelli tires. Inside, the car retained the asceticism of the standard model, but at the same time, it was equipped with other seats with more tenacious lateral support and better upholstery materials. In addition, the gearshift lever is trimmed with leather with a red stitch. A similar solution was applied to the steering wheel, which was equipped with an informative strip for determining the "zero" position. The innovation was the instrument panel with deeper "wells".

In technical terms, there were far more differences from the standard. First of all, it's an upgraded petrol engine - an in-line "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters, developing 114 horsepower instead of 106 in the regular "Granta". To a significant extent, these "horses" are provided due to a wider range of revolutions. This engine is easily turned above 6000 rpm, maintaining a smooth "torque plateau" on most of its part. The suspension was changed accordingly. It uses different shock absorbers and springs, which paradoxically increased the ground clearance by 5 mm - up to 150 mm. At the same time, the smoothness of the ride and the energy absorption of the suspension have significantly improved.

Upgraded version

In 2023, the Russian manufacturer presented a significantly updated version of the "charged" version of the compact model, which took into account the main drawbacks of its predecessor. The power unit remained the same. This is an in-line petrol "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters with the index 21127, which instead of 106 horsepower in the standard version produces 118 horsepower. This was achieved by installing other camshafts that increased the valve lift height, as well as a more efficient fuel pump and a modified intake manifold design. In addition, a different engine management program from "Itelma" appeared. This led to changes in the exhaust system, which became a direct-flow and made of a steel pipe with a diameter of 51 mm, 1.5 times larger than that of the standard model.

Another difference from the standard model was the suspension. It uses springs and shock absorbers of its own design, and the stiffness of the dampers and elastic elements has been increased, both when working in both directions. In addition, while maintaining the previous layout, "MacPherson" and a semi-dependent beam, the attachment points of the components were changed, they are located 6 mm further than before. All these solutions have significantly improved handling and directional stability, along with a significant strengthening of the braking system. At the front, there are discs with an increased diameter, and at the rear, mechanisms from the Vesta are used. As a "cherry on top", the car has 16-inch wheels and Korean Marshal MU12 tires in the 195/50 size.
