Lada Fora is one of the variants of the VAZ-2121 "Niva", a compact off-road vehicle that has been produced since 1977. It differed from the original model in its increased wheelbase, as well as the place of production - the enterprise of the company "PSA Bronto", specializing in the modernization and small-scale assembly of various models of the Volga Automobile Plant. During the development of this car, experience was used in converting the "Niva" off-road vehicle to meet the needs of bank cash handling services. In particular, to extend the standard body of this model, each of its power elements was cut in those places so that when integrating inserts, its strength remained at the same level. Additional parts had a stepped profile, increasing their rigidity against bending and torsion. Some of them are located on the roof of the car, which is why its height has been increased. The result of these innovations was an increase in the wheelbase by 300 mm. About half of the additional space was given to the passengers of the second row, who got more legroom. The remaining 150 mm allowed the rear sofa to be moved forward, beyond the wheel arches. In combination with the high roof and increased door opening width, this provided a more comfortable passenger boarding process, as well as the ability to replace the front seats from the standard "Niva" with more comfortable ones from the VAZ-2108 hatchback. It also "shared" a plastic shelf that covers the contents of the trunk.In addition to the higher roof, the car is externally distinguished from the standard model by a steel bumper located at the front, painted in the body color. Another visible difference was the spare wheel, located not in the engine compartment, but on the rear bumper of the off-road vehicle, being attached to a folding bracket. The freed-up space under the hood was used to install gas generators for the automatic fire extinguishing system. In technical terms, the car was distinguished by a cardan shaft extended by the desired 300 mm. In terms of tires and disks, it was identical to the original model - 15 or 16 inches.
