The Lada 2104 was present in the model range of the Russian manufacturer from 1984 to 2012. The car was a compact station wagon.

The car replaced the model with the index 2102 on the assembly line, but not immediately, only from 1986. Some parts were borrowed from the predecessor, which was produced from 1971. However, the greatest unification of this station wagon was with the 2105 sedan, which determined a number of design features. One of them was special protrusions on the extended roof, which allowed increasing its rigidity, after which it became possible to install an additional trunk on it. The difference from the predecessor was the rear door, which, although it opened upwards, had electric heating and a windshield wiper.

The salon was also borrowed from the 2105 sedan. The exception was the rear sofa, which received a folding mechanism. This allowed, if necessary, to increase the volume of the trunk to 1340 liters from the initial 340 liters. In turn, in terms of payload, the car was comparable to the previous model, providing the ability to transport up to 455 kilograms. The basic equipment of the station wagon was quite ascetic, offering a minimally necessary set for operation. A more expensive configuration offered a triplex pile upholstery of seats, door cards made of integral plastic. It is worth noting the absence of ventilation openings on the rear of the salon in all versions, which, on the one hand, made it difficult to close the doors, and on the other hand, led to fogging of the glasses in cold weather.

The engine range initially included only one engine - a row of four-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 1.3 liters with a carburetor fuel system, taken without any changes from the 2105 sedan. This power unit worked in "pair" with a 4-speed manual transmission, which had an increased gear ratio of the main gear to 4.44. Later, most modifications were equipped with modernized versions of the engine from the "five" with an increased volume of 1.3 and 1.5 liters, which were combined with a 5-speed manual transmission. In addition to them, the car was equipped with a 1.5-liter diesel engine with fuel equipment from Bosch. This version differed by a smaller gear ratio of the main pair in the transmission, a loop of the exhaust pipe, preventing pollution of the right rear lamp with soot particles, a heated fuel filter, strengthened front springs, and additional sound insulation. Standard for this station wagon were 13-inch wheels, however, optionally it was possible to install 14- and 15-inch disks on it. Such products can be easily found in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
