Fiat Toro – a pickup that began to be produced at the Brazilian plant of the concern in 2016. The basis for the model was the Small Wide 4x4 platform, on which the Jeep Renegade, Compass, and Fiat 500X were previously built.

Exterior

By its design, this is not quite a classic pickup. The car is equipped with stylish two-level optics with thin LED daytime running lights. They are complemented by fog lights with a chrome trim. The presence of plastic protectors on the arches, sills, and bumpers gives the car a off-road look. There are also roof rails that allow you to transport long loads. In appearance, the model is more reminiscent of a city crossover than a pickup with its off-road properties.

Technical features

By its design, the pickup does not quite meet its class, since it has a bearing body, not a frame. Nevertheless, the manufacturer claims a payload capacity of 1 ton. Moreover, the suspension is fully independent, which provides an increased level of comfort even when driving on rough terrain. The transport dimensions are 4915 x 1844 x 1735 mm. And a clearance of 207 mm guarantees good passability on light off-road.

The versatility of the vehicle is provided by a connectable all-wheel drive using a multi-disc clutch of the GKN type. A simpler modification with front-wheel drive is also provided.

There are two power units. The base one is 1.8 liters, capable of running on two types of fuel (features of the Brazilian sector): gasoline and ethanol. It produces 130 hp and 185 Nm. The more powerful engine is a 2-liter one. It runs on diesel fuel and is equipped with a Common Rail system. This made it possible to achieve indicators of 170 hp and 350 Nm.

In general, this is a classic city car with a comfortable five-seat salon, a full set of modern functions, and extended options for transporting large-sized cargo.
