The Fiat Sedici appeared in 2006 as a result of the collaboration between the Italian and Japanese brands. Formally, it was a twin of the Suzuki SX4, but it received its own design, a different emphasis in chassis settings, and a slightly more "European" feel behind the wheel. In the first mode, the Sedici moved on the front-wheel drive, in the second mode, it automatically connected the rear axle, and in the Lock mode, it fixed the distribution of moment for complex surfaces. This allowed the car to confidently pass wet dirt roads and snowy areas. The engine range included a 1.6 gasoline engine and a 1.9 Multijet diesel engine. The first one was distinguished by a reliable design and a phase change system, the second one - by a turbine with low-speed geometry and powerful cooling. Both units combined well with mechanics, but there were also versions with a 4-speed "automatic".

In richer trim levels, there were leather seats, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, a multimedia system, and a steering wheel with a different trim, distinguishing the Sedici from the SX4. Additional soundproofing materials were installed on the engine shield and floor section.
