Tires on Opel Insignia Country Tourer (Опел)
The Opel Insignia Country Tourer was first introduced in 2013 as a special modification of the Opel Insignia family. The model was created according to the popular European concept of an "off-road" station wagon, combining the practicality of a large family car with the capabilities of crossovers outside of paved roads. The main difference between the Country Tourer and the standard Insignia station wagon is the increased ground clearance, the presence of protective plastic trim, and extended wheel arches. Most versions were equipped with a four-wheel drive system, which significantly improved stability on slippery surfaces and allowed for more confident movement on dirt roads.
First Generation
The debut model appeared in 2013, as part of a restyling of the entire line of first-generation Insignia versions. From the rest of its representatives, the car was distinguished by "crossover" elements on the body - massive protective pads on the thresholds, wheel arch extensions, and silver elements of bumper protection. There were even more changes in the technical part. First of all, this is the four-wheel drive system, working in conjunction with an electronically controlled clutch and rear differential with increased friction. This scheme allowed for efficient distribution of torque between the wheels, increasing stability on slippery surfaces.
The engine range included several options for turbocharged units - 2-liter gasoline and diesel engines, available with varying degrees of boosting. All power units were combined with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
Second Generation
The next generation was presented in 2017. Like other models in the line, it was adapted to the new General Motors platform. The car became lighter by approximately 150-200 kg compared to its predecessor, which had a positive effect on handling and fuel efficiency. The exterior design became more dynamic: the body received elongated proportions, narrow LED optics, and a more expressive radiator grille. The "off-road" styling was preserved - plastic pads and increased clearance distinguished the Country Tourer from the standard station wagon.
The main technical feature of the second generation was the modernized Twinster all-wheel drive system, which can distribute torque not only between axles but also between rear wheels. This improved the car's stability in turns. The same task was solved with the help of the suspension, which received new settings, thanks to which the station wagon was distinguished by its ability to dampen a significant part of the impact, while maintaining stability at high speed. As an additional option, an adaptive FlexRide chassis was offered. This system changes the characteristics of the shock absorbers and steering control depending on the selected driving mode - Standard, Tour, or Sport.
The station wagon's interior almost completely repeats the interior of the regular Insignia, but differs in an expanded set of options. The central panel is executed in a modern style with a multimedia display and a minimum number of physical buttons. The list of equipment included adaptive IntelliLux LED headlights, a multimedia system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and distance control systems, heated steering wheel and seats. The station wagon's luggage compartment is distinguished by its impressive volume and convenient transformation of the rear row of seats, making the car attractive for family trips.
The wheel sets for the model have mounting diameters from 17 to 20 inches, and the most common tire sizes include 225/55 R17, 245/45 R18, and 245/40 R19. It is convenient to select suitable options in the "Mosavtoshina" online store, where a wide range is presented.
