Compact car Opel Agila was produced by the German manufacturer from 2000 to 2014. After that, it was replaced by the "Karl" model. If the first generation is a hatchback, then the second one can be attributed more to a compact minivan.

Technical features

The first generation, which was launched in 2000, was a modification of the Suzuki Wagon R+. As power units, Opel engines with a volume of 1 and 1.2 liters were used, which were equipped with a chain of the cam type. In 2003, the car underwent a restyling, during which the petrol engines were modernized, and a "diesel" engine with a volume of 1.25 liters appeared. Externally, the car hardly changed, only some decorative elements were changed.

In essence, it was a classic city car that gained significant popularity in the European sector. This factor also contributed to the emergence of the second generation. The new generation was introduced in 2007. At its core, the model contained the Suzuki Splash. Thanks to this, the novelty had a greater length than the first generation (by 20 cm). Therefore, the car was already classified as a mini MPV. Under the hood, the car had three engine options: petrol engines with a volume of 1 and 1.2 liters, as well as a diesel engine with a volume of 1.3 liters. The latter was equipped with Common Rail technology.

The model turned out to be quite controversial. On the one hand, compact and convenient, on the other - with a small salon and the absence of many auxiliary systems. This ultimately led to a decrease in demand for it. The result is the termination of production in favor of a more modern "Karl" model.
