The Opel Combo Cargo is a copy of the Peugeot Partner of the second generation, a compact commercial vehicle designed for use primarily in urban conditions. It has been produced since 2008.Initial Version
The vehicle presented in 2008 was created on the PSA PF2 platform. The key difference from other Peugeot Partner versions is the body. The model is a van with a 2-seat cab separated from the cargo space by a solid partition. Additionally, the window openings, except for the salon, are made closed. The exterior of the vehicle is also fully identical to the "original", differing only in the logos of the German brand on the radiator grille and steering wheel. The engine range is represented by one diesel and one gasoline engine. The gasoline-powered inline "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters is available only in one version, developing 90 hp. It is a modified version of the 8-valve Peugeot engine, widely used, including in commercial equipment, throughout the 1980s. The more modern diesel engine of the same volume HDi is available in three modifications, with power of 75, 90 or 110 hp. Later it was modernized to bring its characteristics in line with current environmental standards. In the most powerful version, the torque was significantly increased - up to 300 Nm. The layout of the van's chassis, like the platform, was taken from the compact passenger cars of the PSA concern. In the front, "MacPherson" struts are used, and in the back, a semi-dependent beam with torsion bars. In essence, the only difference was the use of other shock absorbers and springs, which, in addition to increasing energy intensity, provided a larger ground clearance - 175 mm.Second Iteration
In 2018, the manufacturer presented the next generation of the vehicle. Like its predecessor, it was created on the PSA concern's platform development. But this time, a more modern modular EMP2 was used. The engine range has changed significantly due to the appearance of new engines, primarily a 1.4-liter gasoline engine. It is available in several versions, including a version running on natural gas. Among the diesel power units, a 1.3-liter turbocharged inline "four" appeared, with a power of up to 95 hp and a torque of 200 Nm. The most dynamic modifications of the van are equipped with a 2-liter diesel engine with a power of 135 hp and a torque of 320 Nm, which significantly expands the usage scenarios of this model. Both generations of this vehicle imply the use of special tires and wheels.
