The car of the current iteration appeared only in 2015. Unlike the two previous models, it turned out to be a completely new model in terms of technology. But the dimensions and proportions were almost completely preserved, changing by only a few millimeters. The new platform allowed for a 10% reduction in the car's weight, to the level of the first-generation model. As before, the Miata, being intended for the North American market, received a "senior" engine with a volume of 2 liters for other countries, which was combined with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
