Above the front console was an 8.8-inch display of the multimedia system. In more expensive trim levels, it is complemented by a 12-channel Bose audio system, along with an infrared sensor that detects driver distraction from the road and physical fatigue.

Another notable difference from its predecessor was the chassis. It lost the "multi-link" rear suspension, which was replaced by a semi-independent suspension. In turn, the engine range was notable for the appearance of a new in-line gasoline "four" with a volume of 2 liters from the Skyactiv-X family with a drive turbocharger and compression ignition system. The power unit is characterized by the same traction and power characteristics as the 2.5-liter engine of its predecessor but consumes fuel like a 1.5-liter diesel engine. Another innovation was a diesel engine with a volume of 1.8 liters, which debuted in the compact crossover CX-3. All power units are combined with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions from the previous model.
