Two variants of the latter were offered for the van, differing in wheelbase length — 3.43 or 3.47 meters. In 2003, the van underwent a major upgrade, which changed not only the appearance but also the platform. The car received a 3-section box-section frame and a front independent suspension from full-size pickups. Moreover, the standard version was used for rear-wheel-drive modifications, and the torsion version was used for four-wheel-drive ones. Another important innovation was disc brake mechanisms on all four wheels and ABS already in the standard configuration. As for the engine range, it was compiled taking into account the characteristics of the North American car market at that time. The van received engines from full-size C/K series pickups, starting with a 4.3-liter V6. As an additional option, diesel V8 engines with a volume of 5 to 7.4 liters were offered. In the 2500 modifications, they worked in "pair" with two 4-speed automatic transmissions. The van was standardly equipped with a 4L60E, and in the version for heavy operating conditions — a 4L80E, designed for a higher torque of diesel engines.
