Tires on Chevrolet Malibu (Шевроле)
Currently, the Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size sedan that has been in production since 1996. Previously, its name was used for a passenger car model produced by the North American company from 1964 to 1983.Initial version
The car presented in 1996 had no technical connection with the four previous generations of the model with the same name. It was created on the GM N platform, on its variant with an extended wheelbase, being a classic for that time front-wheel drive sedan. The manufacturer positioned the car as a competitor to such bestsellers as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. In its own model range, it filled the gap that appeared after the production of the Chevrolet Corsica and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera was discontinued. A 2.4-liter inline-four gasoline engine with 150 hp or a 3.1-liter V6 with 155 hp was used as a power unit. In 2000, its power was increased to 170 hp, and the "base" versions with the 2.4-liter engine were no longer produced. Nevertheless, the economical 4-cylinder engine was returned in 2004, but it was a power unit of the Ecotec family from Opel with a volume of 2.2 liters.6th and 7th generation
In 2003, the car was "transferred" to a new platform at that time, Epsilon, which was previously used in the Opel Vectra C, thanks to which a version in the "station wagon" body appeared in the lineup, called the Malibu Maxx. But in terms of equipment and technical characteristics, it was much closer to the Opel Signum, from which it borrowed the "base" 2.2-liter Ecotec engine with 144 hp, a panoramic roof over the rear seats, and a hatch over the front seats. Both the sedan and the station wagon were also equipped with a 3.9-liter High Value V6 engine of their own design, which produced 240 hp. In 2007, it was replaced by a more economical but less powerful version, producing 217 hp. In 2008, the manufacturer introduced a car of the next iteration. It also used the platform from the predecessor, but already a variant with an extended wheelbase. Thanks to this, the sedan increased in size, but preserved the internal space almost unchanged.Eighth generation
A truly new car was introduced in 2013. It used the second iteration of the Epsilon platform. It became "global", replacing passenger car models of a similar size in almost all markets where GM was present. This was facilitated by a set of mechanical components, primarily engines. The lineup consisted of Ecotec engines developed by Opel, which, except for the "base" versions, were combined with a 6-speed "automatic" from Aisin.Ninth generation
In the spring of 2015, the manufacturer introduced a sedan of the current iteration. Like its predecessor, it uses the Epsilon II platform, but already in a modified version, thanks to which the novelty favorably differs from it with a different design, stylistically similar to the commercially successful Impala. A more significant advantage was the salon, which differed significantly increased space. In addition, the updated platform provided a significant reduction in weight. In combination with an efficient body in terms of aerodynamics, this significantly improved fuel efficiency. It is worth noting the engine lineup, where the "base" power unit is a 1.5-liter "aluminum" Ecotec engine with 163 hp. An alternative to it is a 2-liter "four" of the same family, producing 250 hp, which replaced the 6-cylinder engine of the predecessor. The manufacturer offers a modification with a hybrid power unit, where a 1.8-liter gasoline engine is used for heating the salon and the battery in winter, as well as for movement at a speed above 89 km/h. Below this limit, two traction electric motors with a power of 165 hp each are used. In our country, the car cannot be called popular due to the lack of official supplies. Nevertheless, in the assortment of the online store "Mosavtoshina", a fairly wide range of tires and wheels for it is presented.Advantages of selecting tires for the Chevrolet Malibu on our website:
