Tires on Chevrolet Aveo (Шевроле)

Chevrolet Aveo is a compact passenger car of the B segment. It was produced by General Motors from 2002 to 2020, initially being a model developed by the South Korean Daewoo Motors. After its acquisition, the car was sold in 120 countries around the world under seven GM-owned brands.

Model T200

The debut of the model took place in September 2002, when it was presented as the Daewoo Kalos. The development of the car began even before the acquisition of the South Korean manufacturer by General Motors, and it became the first model of the revived company. It was positioned as a successor to the popular Lanos and was initially available with two body types - a 5-door hatchback and a sedan. Later, a 3-door hatchback was added to the lineup, which was mainly offered on the European market. The exterior design of the cars was developed at Italdesign, and the technical part was handled in South Korea. At the same time, the chassis refinement was carried out in the UK. A distinctive feature of the model was the extremely small gaps between the body panels - no more than 3 mm. All body parts, except for the roof, were made of galvanized steel, and almost half of the strength elements were made of high-strength steel. During assembly, pre-welded parts were used, which made it possible to increase strength and reduce the weight of the car. The front suspension was a classic "MacPherson" with a stabilizer of transverse stability, and the rear suspension was a torsion beam, a typical solution, primarily for passenger models of French brands. It is also worth noting the platform used in the car. This provided a significant wheelbase length and short overhangs. In combination with a high roof and increased seat height, this improved visibility, providing all passengers with a sufficiently large space.

Model T250

Just three years after the start of mass production, the car underwent a fairly significant modernization. The changes affected the exterior design, which, in addition to better aesthetic properties, allowed to significantly reduce the aerodynamic drag coefficient - from 0.35 to 0.32. In addition, the update affected the interior, where a new dashboard appeared. Technically, the car almost did not change, except for the engines. Both in-line "fours" with a volume of 1.2 and 1.6 liters were modernized, becoming a little more powerful and economical.

Model T300

The next update the car received only in 2011, when the brand presented the second-generation model. It was built on a new "global" Gamma II platform, developed at the German Opel. In addition to this company, the project was handled by engineers from GM's divisions in Australian Holden and North American Chevrolet. In particular, it was in Holden that the concept of a "four-wheeled bike" design was created, thanks to which the car received headlights and a instrument cluster, made in a motorcycle style. In turn, at Chevrolet, they were engaged in refining the chassis, and these works were carried out by engineers from the Corvette Racing sports division. There were reasons for this in the form of a motor range for this model, which included, among other things, in-line "fours" with a turbocharger with a power of 138 liters. s. with a volume of 1.4 liters, along with a 1.8-liter engine, which were equipped with cars for the North American market. For all other regions, the brand offered versions with "atmospheric" engines with a volume of 1.2 to 1.6 liters, developed at Opel. Despite the long absence from mass production, this car is still often found on our roads, from time to time requiring replacement of tires and wheels. This product can be purchased at the "Mosavtoshina" online store.
