Chevrolet Cobalt – compact car presented by the American manufacturer in 2004 for North America. The model was released in two versions. In fact, these were two different cars.

First Generation

In 2004, a model based on the GM "Delta" platform was introduced. It was released in sedan and coupe bodies, differing in its small dimensions. The "heart" of the car was two petrol engines with a volume of 2.2 and 2.4 liters, which in 2007 were slightly modernized, resulting in an increase in their power to 148 and 173 hp, respectively.

The car was produced until 2010, after which it was replaced by the more promising Chevrolet Cruze model.

Second Generation

In 2011, the Brazilian division of GM revived the model, but on a completely new "Gamma" platform. The first instances produced in Brazil were distributed worldwide, including in Russia. According to the manufacturer's plan, the car was supposed to become a replacement for the Renault Logan. Therefore, its large-scale assembly was established in Uzbekistan. Initially, for the domestic market, and then for the supply of neighboring countries. The "Cobalt" officially began to be supplied to the Russian Federation in 2013. There were not too many trim levels. One 1.5-liter petrol engine was offered, which was complemented by a manual or automatic transmission.

Note that from 2016 to 2020, the car was produced under the Ravon brand, but then returned to its original name, Chevrolet Cobalt.
