The Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a mid-size SUV that has been produced by GM to this day. The model replaced the previously produced Chevrolet Blazer.

Start of production

In 2001, the manufacturer introduced the car, which was based on the GMT360 cargo platform. The model was equipped with both full-time and part-time four-wheel drive with rear differential lock. It was presented in several trim levels - LS, LT, SS. Depending on them, various systems were installed in the car and different quality finishing materials were used. Model development

It was assumed that the new generation would be presented in 2007. But due to financial difficulties, the company released only an updated version. And in 2009, it even closed the plant for the production of the SUV. In 2011, a new generation was finally presented, the production of which began in 2012 in Brazil and Thailand. Moreover, the car was not officially presented in its home country. The car was based on the Chevrolet Colorado platform and was equipped only with diesel engines with a volume of 2.5 and 2.8 liters, equipped with turbines. Along with them, a 6-speed automatic transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission worked.

In 2016, a facelift was carried out, which not only brought visual changes to the exterior, but also updated the power units.

In 2019, an updated "Trailblazer" was released, which now represents a compact crossover. It is equipped with low-displacement turbocharged engines with a volume of 1.2 and 1.3 liters. The car is equipped with both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. Moreover, the first option comes with a variator, and the second - with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Production in Russia

Starting from the first generation, the car has been officially presented in the Russian region. Moreover, since 2001, it has been produced at a plant near Kaliningrad. And the second generation, starting from 2013, is assembled in St. Petersburg. These factors contributed to the spread of the model across the country.
