Tyre reviews Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 SUV 494
- Rate
By the third season of operation, everything cracked: tread, tread base, sidewall, etc. They look like they've been in a dump for 20 years. Although the wear is 15% (the indicator still shows 8). The tires are made in Finland, 275/45 R20, 2017 model, purchased new in 2019. They were stored in a warm, dry closet, and my wife drove carefully in Irkutsk. I filed a complaint with Nokian's representative office in Russia for a replacement under the LIFETIME WARRANTY, filled out the questionnaire and everything else. As a result, they sent an official refusal, quoting: "Taking into account the significant age of the tires, about 4 years, as well as the existing wear of about 10-15%, it can be assumed that the surface cracks of the rubber compound may be a consequence of wear under the influence of aggressive environmental factors and operating conditions..."
But before that, we drove there for 15 years on other tires, and NOTHING like this ever happened. I saw similar complaints in reviews on mosavtoshina, so my case is not the only one, and this is a factory defect. At the same time, they make an awful noise, and brake poorly on rolled snow, and on loose snow, they don't brake at all.
In general, there is no LIFETIME WARRANTY for these tires, I think there is no warranty at all. PEOPLE, DON'T BUY THIS STUFF, for that kind of money, it's better to buy Continental Ice Contact 2, the braking is much better, there's no such awful noise, the third season is running on my second car without any complaints.

I bought a Hakkapeliita 9 SUV to replace a 7 SUV. The old one was great. The new Hakkapeliita 9 SUV is genuinely the worst tire I've driven on since 1991. In turns at 45-50 km/h on a snowy road with ice it can spin out, when driving on winter slush the car wriggles the front end when you give it gas, and on complicated roads it is unpredictable during turns and/or while accelerating.

I only use Nokian winter tires. I tried the 5, 7, and 8, and got the 9 purely based on the advertising. Compared to the 8, I didn't feel a big difference in handling. The noise level is not much less, durability will be shown in time. On a slippery winter road, the 9 sometimes makes the rear axle slide ( Mitsubishi Pajero IV), but I don't recall such a situation with the 8. On

The quality of the tire is terrible, after 6 months of use, micro-cracks appeared around the circumference of the tire on all wheels. There are no complaints about the pattern and tread. On ice, snow, and asphalt, they behave normally. But for such a price, such tire quality is unacceptable!!! DOT 60HI ! I would not advise to buy, total disappointment!

Sold my previous set of Hakkappa 8 without hesitation and then paid for a new Hakkappa 9 in the spring.
The Hakkappa 8 lasted through three winter seasons in Siberia on four tires, with only one stud lost - that's a sign.
I drive the car with full-time all-wheel drive but I use it with smooth acceleration and similar braking.
The Hakkappa 9 I've been driving for a week - I'm- Vehicle:

It handles well on snow and ice. On dry asphalt it's like a cow on ice, very bad at holding its trajectory. Extremely loud, I've never experienced anything like it. Just as loud as a faulty gearbox or bearings. Not very comfortable. I won't be buying Nokian anymore.

I'm a fan of this model, as if the manufacturer has remembered the old, good haka-4, haka-5 and tried to reincarnate it into the haka-9.
The tread pattern is reliable, the tread design with large grooves rides well in snow and slush, a 1.6 ton car is almost immune to aquaplaning, (but the brain is still there)

Good tires, but they came old from the store. They were almost three years old at the time of purchase. If it weren't for the distance to my place and the shipping of the tires by logistics companies, I would have returned them.

Good tire, be cautious on ice. Expected better. Overpriced for the money, paying 9 for 7. Aggressive marketing. Tire is a hard mid-range product.

That evening, when I purchased and installed these 18*265x60 tires on Moscow, a huge amount of snow, which was supposed to last for the entire December, fell from the sky.
The MKAD came to a complete standstill, I dove (at 85 km/h) into the exits to Ashan and Leroy Merlin, but there, everything was at a standstill because trucks had created 30-centimeter deep ruts in the snow, and both the trucks and cars were completely stuck.
That's when I turned on all the locks and went straight through all the snowy ruts, passing by the stuck trucks and cars, just like a six-wheeled Ural 4320, accompanied by the gazes of drivers who had the wrong tires.
In general, that evening I was the king of the roads.
