The season is already ending and there is something to share.
After purchasing Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV, I definitely noticed a decrease in fuel consumption and the tank started to self-fill by morning.
The engine oil changes itself, the brake pads have stopped wearing out.
The crack on the windshield has sealed itself, and the lacquer coating has been restored to its factory condition.
If we get closer to the point, the tires have fully justified expectations.
1) The braking distance on bare ice is quite decent, you just need to be careful.
2) Handling on bare ice is very comfortable and predictable.
3) On snow (both loose and crusty) it grips confidently, with a snow thickness of up to 20 cm below the clearance.
4) On the highway in fairly bad snowy and windy weather, it holds the road perfectly at 140 km/h, and even when swaying into the left lane at that speed, it didn't cause any problems.
5) Water is drained very well, in a decent puddle (in the city) aquaplaning was not noticed (at a speed of 70 km/h), and on the highway, no puddles were encountered.
6) Noise levels are within the normal range, with the engine and exhaust work being more noticeable.
7) It's still early to talk about wear, having driven 2,000 km this season.
8) And the key point is the PRICE, in my opinion, the current price is unjustifiably high even for Nokian, I suppose the price before the well-known events would have been around 10-11 thousand per wheel.
9) Would I buy them again? I think yes, either Michelin or Nokian.

Good tires. Good braking on snow and ice coverage. Holds the road well. Haven't used in severe frosts yet.

We chose tires for the city, never regretted it, the ride is comfortable, not noisy, the car behaves predictably. Even bare ice and dense snow are not a problem, everything is very clear. Good rubber for the city.

Before that, I had been driving on studded tires for 17 years. With the purchase of a four-wheel drive vehicle, I began to look into and ask acquaintances about friction tires. I had only driven on Michelin 2, 3, and 4 studded tires. I was choosing between Pirelli Sottzero, Michelin Alpin, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta. Since the Vologda region has predominantly Scandinavian winters, the choice was obvious. The tires are excellent, on asphalt they are as quiet as in the summer, slush on the highway and light frosts are not a problem, and at -20 degrees it feels like driving on nails - very gripping. There were no severe ice conditions, but regular studded tires don't perform much better on bare ice either. If you're trying to decide whether to buy expensive tires as an alternative to Chinese tires that cost 1/3 of the price of a normal tire, then the price is probably the deciding factor for you, and my review is just words from someone who overpaid three times for a set. But once you try something better, you won't want to go back.

Couldn't find Continental ContiVikingContact 8 quickly, so I took this one.

After one winter, I can say it's excellent tires, great on snowy yards, brakes well on snowy and icy roads at traffic lights, and good on puddles on the asphalt, while being quite quiet. After this, I put back my summer Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric SUV - the noise made me want to take them off immediately, I'll definitely be replacing them.

One minus is the cost, but that's understandable - it's made in Finland.

I didn't have a chance to drive in the snow in full because I've been using them in the south. Overall, my impressions are positive, they handle well on slush, and I liked their behavior on fresh snow. They brake adequately and make moderate noise. It's too early to talk about wear.
