In 2011, the list of equipment was supplemented with a "start-stop" system from Wagon R, and two years later, it also received the Ene-Charge system from it, which allowed further reducing fuel consumption. The "global" version was produced in India, and it was a different car, technically unrelated to the model for the Japanese market, and also having a different body design. In late 2014, the premiere of the eighth-generation car took place. It debuted with a modular HEARTECT platform, along with a rear torsion suspension in monodrive versions. The new components and optimized body structure made it possible to lighten the compact model by 60 kg at once, which had a positive effect on fuel efficiency. In addition to this, the engine - a row of 660-cubic triples from the previous model - made its contribution to fuel economy, having undergone another cycle of modernization. It was distinguished by an increased compression ratio and the presence of a system for recirculating exhaust gases, a changed geometry of the intake and exhaust manifolds, which also made it possible to increase traction at low and medium speeds. Depending on the configuration, the power unit was combined with a 5-speed manual or automated transmission with a single clutch. Both transmissions were available with a system of full drive.Ninth Generation
In late 2021, the ninth-generation car was released on the Japanese market. Compared to its predecessor, the car stood out for its more modern features, having lost the stylistic characteristics of models characteristic of compact Suzuki cars since the 1970s. The windshield was installed almost vertically. The body height increased to 1525 mm, along with the headroom and door openings for passengers. The salon retained a 4-seat layout and fairly ascetic equipment. In particular, head restraints at the rear sofa with a solid back are available only in the most expensive versions of the configuration, along with climate control and LED headlights. However, already in the "base" version, an automatic braking system is offered, which uses two cameras under the windshield to work.Under the hood was a 3-cylinder 660-cubic engine from the predecessor, developing 46 horsepower and 55 Nm. In more expensive versions, a more technologically advanced version of this engine is used with a variable valve timing system VVT and a hybrid "add-on" in the form of a starter-generator, which adds 2.6 horsepower and 40 Nm in the first seconds of acceleration, and also increases the operating time of the "start-stop" system. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 3 Ah, powering it, is located under the front passenger seat. Both power units are combined with a variator, front or all-wheel drive. In the latter case, instead of a torsion bar at the back, a non-separable bridge appears. 15-inch wheels were standard for this car.
