Tires on Nissan (Ниссан)

The Nissan automobile brand is owned by the eponymous multinational company headquartered in the Japanese city of Yokohama. In addition to this brand, the firm sells its cars as Infiniti, Nismo, and Autech. Since 1999, the company has been part of the Renault–Nissan–Mitsubishi alliance, which was finally formed in 2016.

History

Nissan was founded by Masujiro Hashimoto, who in 1911 created the company Kwaishinsha (Kaishinsha) Motor Car Works, which could be translated as "a good company that produces cars". The debut model of the DAT brand was released three years later. The abbreviation was composed of the first letters of the surnames of the company's investors. In 1918, it was renamed Kaishinsha Motorcar, and in 1925 it was renamed DAT Motorcar. By that time, the plant's product line was dominated by trucks, which was due to the almost non-existent demand for passenger cars in Japan in the 1920s, as well as the high demand for commercial equipment due to the 1923 earthquake. They were assembled using a large number of components imported from the USA. By the beginning of the 1930s, the company, through mergers with other small automobile manufacturers, significantly increased production volumes and product range, after which there was a need to reorganize the business. This process began in 1928 with the formation of the Nihon Sangyo holding company. The name Nissan emerged, as in the case of DAT, from an abbreviation, but this time used in trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, where the company was designated as Ni and San. By that time, it controlled the foundry production of Tobabta Casting and Hitachi, as well as more than 70 other companies, being one of the industrial giants of Japan.

Renault Alliance

By 1999, the company faced serious financial problems, which were solved only by becoming part of the French company Renault. In June 2001, Renault's CEO, Carlos Ghosn, took a similar position at Nissan. At the same time, the company underwent a large-scale reorganization, which many leading economists consider one of the most impressive transformations in history. The result was record profits and a sharp increase in car production, both Nissan and its sub-brands, primarily Infiniti. In 2016, Mitsubishi joined the alliance, which also had a positive impact on the market position and profits of all three brands.

Model Range

Nissan's approach to forming its product line is the same as that of other Japanese automobile giants. First of all, this is the isolation of the model range for the domestic market. On it, the company is represented mainly by class B passenger cars, as well as kei cars and minivans developed by Mitsubishi and Suzuki. This is also practiced with respect to the so-called "global" models offered worldwide. They use platforms and components developed jointly by the companies participating in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. In addition to passenger cars, the company offers a wide range of commercial vehicles. First of all, these are mid-size pickups Navara, offered on the North American market, as well as microbuses and vans, which are "clones" of popular Renault models, using the same set of platforms and components. The unique offers of the brand are the line of electric vehicles, which are second only to Tesla in popularity, as well as the Nissan GT-R, a sports "icon" of the brand, one of the most technological models of this brand. Tires for such cars and other models of the brand are widely represented in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
