Tires on Renault Trafic (Ренаулт)

The Renault Trafic is a light commercial van that has been produced since 1980, often using other manufacturers' brands, mainly Fiat, Nissan, and Opel.

Initial Version

The commercial vehicle debuted in 1980, becoming the successor to the Estafette, whose series production began in 1959. One of its features was a layout with a longitudinal engine arrangement, which somewhat complicated its placement in the engine compartment and limited the choice of power units. The "base" was a 1.4-liter gasoline engine with a carburetor fuel system and a power of 48 hp. In addition to it, the car was equipped with a 2.1-liter diesel engine, which was not so compact, resulting in a protrusion in the front part with a radiator grille and a change in the shape of the bumper. In 1984, the brand introduced a modification with four-wheel drive, which connected the slipping rear wheels using a cam clutch. The system was borrowed from the R18 passenger sedan. This version was equipped exclusively with a diesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. In the same year, a 1.65-liter gasoline engine with a power of 65 hp was installed on the van, which, in addition to the "mechanics", could be equipped with a 3-range automatic transmission.

In the first half of 1989, a restyled version of the van was introduced, which underwent significant changes. First of all, they affected the front part, which was extended, allowing to solve the problem with the engine placement. At the same time, its shape with rounded corners significantly improved aerodynamics, reducing fuel consumption. In 1995, the van was updated again, receiving a different radiator grille, rear lights, double rearview mirrors, as well as a modern instrument panel and adjustable seats in the cabin.

Model X83

In 2001, the brand introduced the second-generation van. The car was the result of Renault's collaboration with Opel and Nissan and was sold under these three brands. The French company was responsible for the development and production of the van, both under its own brand and using the Opel brand. In addition, serial production was carried out at Nissan's plant in Spain, namely, high-roof modifications. At that time, Renault's plant in the British Luton had significant height restrictions in the assembly shop. The collaboration between the three companies made it possible to offer a large number of modifications from the start of sales, ranging from the "base" with a three-seat cabin and maximum cargo space to a 9-seat bus. Since the creation was handled by the French company, the platform and components used in this model were its development. First of all, this is the engine range, consisting of in-line "fours" - a 2-liter gasoline F4R and diesel F9Q, M9R, G9U with a volume of 1.9 to 2.6 liters. The engines, depending on the version, worked in pair with 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

Model X82

A van of a new generation was introduced in 2014 and was again offered not only as a Renault but also as an Opel and Nissan. The engine range compared to its predecessor was reduced and contained two diesel "fours" - R9M with a volume of 1.6 liters and M9R with a volume of 2 liters. The 1.6-liter engine was installed in two versions - with a power of 90 and 120 hp. Another difference was the use of a turbocharger with variable geometry in it. In turn, the 2-liter power unit developed 140 hp with the help of two turbines. Other important features of the engines include an oil pump and a cooling pump with variable performance, as well as the presence of a chain in the gas distribution mechanism designed for the entire vehicle life. Although this van cannot be called popular in our country, nevertheless, tires and wheel disks for it are in steady demand in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
