The Renault Talisman was produced from 2015 to 2022. The car belonged to the D+ segment, replacing two models at once on the assembly line - Laguna and Latitude.

First Generation

The car, which debuted in 2015, was a classic sedan that stood out among its "classmates" with an extended sloping hood, relief sides and C-shaped daytime running lights. The model turned out to be quite spacious, significantly surpassing the Laguna in all directions, especially in terms of wheelbase. Most of the additional space went to the passengers of the second row and the luggage compartment, the volume of which reached 608 liters. The car's interior and equipment were largely borrowed from the Espace minivan, including the multimedia system with an 8.7-inch display, massage seats, LED lighting, automatic parking system, and adaptive cruise control in the more expensive versions.

Technically, the car was close not to the passenger cars of the Renault-Nissan alliance, but to crossovers. It was created on a modular CMF platform, shared with the X-Trail, but a simplified version of it was used with a semi-independent beam at the back. Nevertheless, the sedan was favorably distinguished from its "classmates" by its handling, especially in the top versions, for which a four-wheel steering system 4Control was available, where the rear wheels could turn at a small angle, and the shock absorbers had an electronic control system. The basis of the engine range consisted of diesel engines with a volume of 1.5 and 1.6 liters with one or two turbochargers, developing from 110 to 160 horsepower. An alternative to them was a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four gasoline engine, developing 150 or 200 horsepower. The least powerful diesel versions in the "base" were equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, and a "robot" with the same number of gear ratios was available as an option. The gasoline modification, the only one in the line, offered a 7-speed dual-clutch robotic gearbox.

Updated Versions

In 2018, the car underwent a significant update. In particular, the engine range was revised. New gasoline engines with a volume of 1.3 and 1.8 liters and a power of 160 to 225 horsepower, as well as 1.7- and 2-liter diesel power units in several variants, developing from 120 to 200 horsepower, appeared in it. Gasoline versions were equipped with a 7-speed "robot", the 120-horsepower diesel version - a 6-speed "mechanics", and the rest of the versions received a 6-range pre-selective robotic gearbox designed for a higher torque.

In 2020, the line, which by that time included a sedan and a station wagon, underwent another modernization. The exterior design underwent minor changes, which cannot be said about the interior. It featured an enlarged 9.3-inch vertical tablet of the multimedia system, a frameless rearview mirror, larger cup holders, a smartphone wireless charging area, as well as miniature screens on the climate control handles, which displayed the selected temperature.
