Renault Stepway debuted in 2008. The car was created based on the popular Sandero hatchback at the Brazilian division of the French concern. The model was positioned by the manufacturer as a crossover, and was sold both in Brazil and in Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina. The car was produced until 2014, and with the change of generation, it received the "European" name Sandero Stepway.
Main Features
The model is a modified version of the standard Sandero hatchback. It turned out to be iconic, as this concept was sufficient to be replicated in all regions where Renault was presented. Externally, the car differed in modified bumpers with a large number of unpainted plastic surfaces, to which a black pigment was added even at the stage of its production. In addition to this, the front bumper had an additional overlay, simulating a steel safety arch. Another important difference was the modified chassis. The car received other springs and shock absorbers, which, along with the installation of tires with a larger profile, increased the ground clearance. A unique feature of the "Brazilian" version was the engine range. It consisted of one engine - a 1.6-liter inline "four" with a capacity of 112 hp, which could run not only on gasoline but also on bioethanol. This version was available exclusively on the South American market. In the standard configuration, the same tires and wheel disks were used as on the popular Logan and Sandero in our country.
