The Renault Modus is a compact van that was first released in 2004. It was based on the universal "B" platform from Nissan, which was also used in the Renault Logan, Symbol, and Nissan Mix and Note.

The manufacturer targeted the model at those who wanted to get a spacious vehicle with small dimensions. At the same time, it had to be inexpensive and economical to maintain. Therefore, many units were unified with other models. Under the hood, a 1.5 and 1.6 liter diesel engine with several boost options was installed, as well as 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6 liter gasoline engines. A "mechanics" transmission was used, but an "automatic" or robot transmission was also installed. As for the drive, in the majority of cases, the car was equipped with front-wheel drive, but there were also all-wheel drive modifications.

Among the features, it is worth noting the presence of a mount for the VeloFix system, which allowed bicycles to be transported on the rear door. Xenon headlights could also be installed, which were supplemented with blocks with "halogen" lamps. The latter illuminated an additional area when turning. The cabin's specificity can also be attributed to the two options for the rear sofa. One of them is classic, able to fold its back for increasing the luggage compartment. The second one has the possibility of moving the seats forward and backward.

The car in its primary configuration was offered until 2008. However, low sales forced the manufacturer to modernize it, which changed the bumper and head optics. Changes also affected the suspension, which received new shock absorbers and bearing supports, improving the smoothness of the ride and the accuracy of control. Despite such measures, the popularity of the "Modus" decreased from year to year. As a result, in 2012, the model was discontinued.

Distribution in the Russian Federation

Starting from 2005, the Renault Modus was officially offered in our country. It did not become a competitor to the "Logan", and was supposed to occupy its niche.
