The city sedan Renault Fluence from the French company came to replace the Renault Megane. The model is based on the Nissan C platform, but compared to its predecessor, it has an increased wheelbase. Note that the cars were unified, so the "Fluence" used many elements from the "Megane" — parts of the salon, dashboard, etc.The front-wheel drive sedan is equipped with three gasoline engines: two of them with a volume of 1.6 liters with power ratings of 106 and 116 horsepower and a 2-liter engine with 138 horsepower. Initially, the model was equipped with a classic mechanical gearbox, as well as a 4-speed "automatic". Later, a variator (CVT) appeared in the configuration.
Modernization
The first restyling was done in 2012. For the most part, it affected the exterior: a modified bumper, the appearance of running lights, xenon headlights. To this should be added some additions to the salon, for example, a USB port in the multimedia system.In 2015, a second restyling was carried out, which changed the rear lights and added some decorative elements.
Notably, the car began to be assembled in Russia in 2013 at the Moscow plant. Until then, the model was supplied to the country from 2010. Reliable, comfortable, with good equipment — Renault Fluence became a discovery for Russian car enthusiasts. Moreover, the official warranty from the manufacturer allowed in the first years of operation not to think about possible breakdowns. All this significantly increased sales in the Russian sector, creating a large fleet.

Along with the classic power units, the manufacturer also presented an electric version of the car, which was equipped with a 70 kW engine. The installed battery (lithium-ion) allowed to cover a distance of up to 160 km on a single charge. Moreover, the vehicle was offered without a battery, which could be rented from the manufacturer. This approach significantly reduced not only the cost of the car but also neutralized concerns about the failure of an expensive element.As for future plans, the French manufacturer is actively developing the second generation.
