Tires on Renault Master (Ренаулт)

The Renault Master is one of the largest vans produced by the French brand. The model has been in serial production since 1980, and in all its generations, it has been the company's own development.

Initial Version

The first appearance of the van to the general public took place in September 1980. The vehicle was a commercial model with a mid-engine layout and front-wheel drive, a non-trivial solution even for that time. Until 1984, it was equipped with a 2.4-liter Fiat-Sofim diesel engine, and after that, with a 2.1-liter engine. In a very small number of instances, the vehicle was equipped with a 2 and 2.2-liter Renault gasoline engine. And in 1990, there was another replacement of the diesel engine. This was still a Sofim, but with an increased working volume of 2.5 liters. Externally, the van was distinguished by a characteristic design of sliding doors and large door handles moving in a circle, similar to those used in the Fiat Ritmo.

Series B

In 1982, the French manufacturer presented a special version of this van. Externally, it was almost indistinguishable from the original version, but technically, it was a different vehicle. It was a light truck, on the frame of which was installed the body of the van. Accordingly, the layout changed, distinguished by the front location of the engine and rear-wheel drive. Another feature was the use of dual rear wheels. All these solutions made it possible to significantly increase the payload capacity, which was the intention when creating this version. Initially, the van was equipped with "atmospheric" diesel and gasoline engines. But later, the gasoline power unit was removed, and the diesel engine was replaced with versions with turbocharging and an intercooler.

Second Generation

In the fall of 1997, the brand offered a model of the second generation. It differed in a much more traditional external appearance and layout, which was due to the conditions of the agreement, according to which Fiat, Peugeot/Citroen, Volkswagen, and Mercedes-Benz gained access to this platform, as well as the possibility of producing and exchanging a number of components. In particular, the van received from the Iveco Daily of the third generation some body panels, cab doors, and door cards. The engine range also had nothing in common with its predecessor. It was composed of several variants of the Renault S-Type diesel engine, as well as the Nissan YD. This made it possible to significantly expand the list of modifications, differing in a large range of engine powers.

Third Generation

The vehicle of the next iteration was presented in the summer of 2010. Conceptually, it did not differ from its predecessor, surpassing it in the number of modifications. This is mainly due to the discontinuation of the "heavy" version of the Mascott, the alternative to which were the "cab + chassis" versions with a payload capacity of up to 2.5 tons. The engine range was changed again. It was reduced to a single diesel engine - an in-line "four" M9T with a volume of 2.3 liters, but in several versions, differing from each other in power. Starting from the second generation, this vehicle was offered under several European brands, which largely explains the widespread presence of this model on our roads. Considering that it is a commercial vehicle, it is necessary to choose special tires and wheels for it. Such products are presented in a wide range in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
