The Kia K5 is a mid-size car in the D segment. It has been in production since 2019 and is the fifth generation of the popular Optima model.Main Features
The car, presented in November 2019, was created on the H3 platform, just like the Hyundai Sonata with the DN8 index. Another important borrowing was the body type - a fastback, which first appeared back in the 1940s, but at the same time, the design is much more aggressive, mainly due to the sloping front with Z-shaped headlights and a textured radiator grille. The engine range consists of the same engines offered in the platform-sharing Sonata. In the standard configuration, the car was equipped with an in-line turbocharged "four" with a volume of 1.6 liters and a power of 180 hp. The most dynamic modifications received a 2.5-liter engine, also with a turbocharger, but with a power of 286 hp. Both power units belong to the Smartstream family. In addition, the most equipped versions offered a four-wheel drive system, which is not available in the Sonata.In 2023, the South Korean manufacturer presented an updated version of the model. The changes affected, first of all, the external appearance of the car. It received new headlights and rear lights, along with a rear bumper with enlarged "ventilation" holes. In turn, the salon was equipped with two 12-inch displays, and the classic gearshift lever gave way to a modern rotary selector.
