Tyre reviews Hankook K117 Ventus S1 Evo2 215

After Michelin, Nokian's comfort is pleasantly surprising, how quiet and stable the Korean tire is, almost no pronounced road noise, Michelin's handling on uneven roads is smooth, only on a curve, I slightly steer the Hankook. I bought it in autumn 2015, I drove on it a little, but I'm very pleased that unevenness and potholes are much softer and quieter to ride on, I drive fast, so I sometimes get into trouble. Size

I bought it, first paid attention to its behavior, noticed it was quieter than factory ones, then just forgot and stopped paying attention. It didn't pose any problems, regardless of the tire, except for the dirty trail of a dirt road, but that's just predictable.

Review of 225/45/18 tyres.
As there was not enough money for Michelin UHP, and the season was coming, I had to choose between buying a used good tyre or a new pseudo UHP. I dismissed the used tyre option because I had to buy it without the wheels, which would have meant that I would have to test it, and it would have involved a lot of hassle for both the seller and me. I crossed this option off the list. I

I replaced these tires with the original Bridgestone Turanza T001s. I switched from 19-inch to 17-inch diameter as in our Arkhangelsk region, it's only slightly faster than a pedestrian to drive on a low-profile tire. Several carefully studied tests convinced me that there are no equivalent tires in the 225/55 R17 size. Plus, the very attractive price. In general, I can say that after switching to a higher profile, the car did not lose

After driving 150 km from Krasnodar to Tuapse in the rain, these tires seemed okay on wet asphalt as they're said to be, anyway. The next day, I drove to Sochi in dry weather on serpentine roads and realized after the first few turns, when my wife said it was swaying, that it was due to the tires. They are absolutely not suited for serpentine driving, the feeling is like you're driving on a slippery sheet. The Mich

I bought size 255/40 R19 on Tiguan at first seemed noisy, but after 2 weeks of running-in external noise disappeared, the car is driving like on "butter". It goes through joints and small potholes firmly, but I attribute this to the low profile and specifics of the Tiguan suspension. It enters turns well on dry asphalt, also on wet. As for aquaplaning, it's on fire. Before there were Continental ContiSportContact 5

A very worthy tyre for the price. It has a sporty feel in turns, naturally, but in everyday turns, the car behaves confidently and predictably. Good cornering stability and handling up to 200 km/h, but at higher speeds it's the suspension that starts to lack rather than the tyre. Still, I expected better dry braking grip. Under heavy braking on dry asphalt, the ABS kicks in too early, and the braking seemed a bit insufficient. However, this is all just the

Model K117A, i.e. with the SUV suffix. Size 275/50 R20: excellent handling on any surface, the tire is quite soft, seals pass well, but not Michelin nonetheless, managed to catch a nail, I think it's just due to the softness of the tire (no problems with glass and nails on the roads for years). There are no questions about grip on any surface. Noise is average, constantly heard in the background on any surface, as on

I bought Hankook Ventus S1 Evo2 tires in August 2021 for my BMW 530d xDrive G30, with uneven widths: front 245/40/19, rear 275/35/19, to replace the standard run-flat Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3. The advantages of Hankook are: great traction, excellent handling in turns, excellent manageability, and it has become much softer than the run-flat, plus the load on the suspension has decreased (I changed the control arms at 80,000 km, "thanks" to the run-flat), and it hits the discs less (I was tired of adjusting them every season after the run-flat). The noise level is also more pleasant than Goodyear. However, there is a minus (significant for me) - the rear tires wore out very quickly (the all-wheel drive in the 5-series is not permanent, the car starts from the rear axle). Now it's June 2023, I've been driving on Hankook for 12 months (2 full seasons, not a full trip) and about 30-32 thousand km, the rear tires have worn out to zero, a little more and the cord will come out :)). The front ones can still be driven for a season. But to be honest, I drive fast, mostly on the highway, cruising at 160-180, often 220 km/h. They held excellent at 265 km/h. Summary: good tires for 65,000 (in 2021), but in 2023, I wouldn't buy such for 90,000. Better to overpay a bit and buy something more wear-resistant. Handling on snow and ice for summer tires? Okay, let's put 5, so as not to spoil the overall rating.

I decided on the price and the great performance of the same tires on my H3 3.0d. I replaced the worn-out Michelin with Latitude 3 3 R20.
To be honest, I only won in the depth of the tread. Hankook loses on all counts:
Much heavier, stiffer, longer braking distance, both on dry and wet surface, the tire screams with a whistle. It's like Pirelli by feel.
