In terms of the chassis, the car largely repeated the previous models, differing only in the more rigid springs, increased cross-stability stabilizer section, changed arrangement of the front arm mounts and rear shock absorbers. The bending and torsional strength of the front beam, rear subframe, and some silent blocks in the rear suspension were significantly increased, replacing part of them with steel articulated joints.

Updated version

In 2017, the car underwent significant updates. One of the key innovations was the change in the settings of the active interaxle differential, which became not partially, but fully electronically controlled. The braking system also changed, with larger-diameter discs and 6-piston calipers at the front. The mechanical transmission uses other synchronizers, which improved the clarity of shifting. Another innovation was the use of an electromechanical power steering amplifier, with a control unit integrated into its housing.

In the cabin of the updated version, higher-quality trim materials are used, and a rear armrest with cup holders has appeared. The multimedia system display, as before, is located in the center of the front console, but has increased in size. The standard front Recaro seats, as before, have mechanical adjustments, but can be replaced with electric ones for an additional fee. In the base configuration, the LED headlights of the headlight have become adaptive, "learning" to turn the light beam in sync with the steering wheel rotation. Unlike the standard WRX, this model is much better equipped, offering 2-zone climate control, leather seat and door trim, a start button, a front view camera, a multimedia system with satellite navigation, and a blind spot monitoring system.
