Шины на Subaru Pleo (Субару)

The Subaru Pleo was produced from 1998 to 2009. The model belonged to the subcompact compact minivans, was created as the brand's own development, and was intended for the Japanese market, where spacious but extremely economical small cars were particularly valued.

First Iteration

When it first appeared in 1998, the Pleo looked like Subaru's attempt to create a maximally functional city car without a sense of "budgetness". It was built on the platform of the subcompact R1 model, receiving short overhangs and a flat floor. This was added to by a high body, which contained more high-strength steel power elements than the "original", including sills, which allowed the "signature" manageability of this brand to be preserved, while reducing the level of vibration.

The engine range included small three- and four-cylinder engines. The base was a 0.7-liter inline engine EN07, which existed in "atmospheric" and turbocharged versions. Despite the modest volume, the power unit was quite technological for its time: multi-point fuel injection, a stable cooling system with an increased heat exchanger, and an aluminum block. Due to this, the engine easily withstands city "start-stop" cycles and remains quiet at high speeds.

The transmission is represented by a variator i-CVT or a classic 5-speed "mechanics". The variator was distinguished by the use of a belt with a reinforced steel braid and a redesigned hydraulic system, which reduced jerks during sharp accelerations. In addition to front-wheel drive versions, there were also all-wheel drive configurations with a viscous coupling on the rear axle, which automatically connected when the front wheels slipped.

The Pleo's salon was surprising in its thoughtfulness: high seating, a vertical front panel, and a transformable rear row allowed for quick changes to the space configuration. The materials, although simple, were chosen correctly: wear-resistant fabric, dense plastic with a matte structure that protects against scratches, and convenient inserts for storing small items. Among the equipment, there were electric front windows, air conditioning, a system for heating the windshield wiper area, and a full-fledged on-board computer with consumption indicators.

The standard wheels were 13- and 14-inch steel versions with ventilated holes of increased area, providing cooling of the brake mechanisms on narrow city streets. In more expensive trim levels, you could find alloy wheels made of aluminum alloy with a reinforced central part - they reduced the unsprung mass and made the minivan noticeably more smooth on uneven roads.

Second Generation

In 2004, the Pleo was updated, preserving the general ideology, but significantly adding to the comfort. The body became more rigid due to the increased attachment points of the front suspension and the strengthened engine shield. The engineers redesigned the suspension geometry: the McPherson struts at the front received more rigid mounts, and the rear torsion beam became lighter by approximately 1.2 kg, which improved stability on turns and made leans less pronounced. The power units were also refined - atmospheric engines received updated camshafts and a different valve profile, which gave a little more traction at the "bottom". Turbo versions - rare, but interesting in a technical sense, since they were equipped with an intermediate cooler.

The trim levels became richer: driver and passenger airbags appeared, an improved audio system, climate control, heated mirrors, and in the expensive versions - even a system for preventing glass fogging with automatic airflow regulation. The materials used in the salon became softer, and the panels became quieter due to improved damping inserts in the front of the body. The wheels for most - predominantly 14-inch alloy wheels with wide ventilation channels, designed to reduce overheating of drum or disc brakes in city conditions. An aluminum alloy with increased corrosion resistance was used, which for a compact minivan with frequent operation in winter regions was an important advantage.

Before selecting tires, it is worth considering that the compact format of this car and its suspension are sensitive to the quality of the tires, so the choice of the correct size and design of the tires directly affects comfort and reliability. That's why many owners turn to the online store "Mosavtoshina" to immediately select proven options for their wheels.

Advantages of selecting tires on our website for Subaru Pleo:

- The assortment contains the widest selection of tires for light city minivans, including models with reinforced sidewalls, optimally suited for cars with a high body height;
- The automated selection system suggests options based on the specific generation of Pleo and the type of suspension, which differed depending on the type of drive;
- You can purchase 13- and 14-inch disks that fully comply with the factory parameters and do not require additional spacers;
- Specialists will help determine which tires will perform better in the city and which on suburban routes, taking into account the difference in suspension of the two generations and the model's sensitivity to road surface quality.
