Subaru BRZ is a fastback coupe with a 2+2 seating arrangement. The car appeared in the model range of the Japanese brand in 2012 and was developed jointly with Toyota.

Initial Version

The car presented in 2012 was created on a modified platform from Subaru Impreza, which differs from the standard with increased stiffness and a lower center of mass. The coupe uses a 2-liter boxer engine, which, in combination with an aluminum hood and rear-wheel drive, provides almost equal weight distribution between the axes - 53% in front and 47% in the back. The power unit is based on Subaru developments, but has a Toyota fuel injection system, which, along with a number of other components, allowed it to produce 200 horsepower. The engine reaches its maximum torque at 6400 rpm. The power unit, depending on the version, is combined with two 6-speed transmissions - a manual transmission from Toyota and an automatic transmission from Aisin-Warner, a modified version of the transmission from Lexus IS 250. The interior was distinguished by the asceticism of the design and the front seats with developed lateral support, installed in the lowest possible position.

Second Generation

In 2020, the duo of Japanese manufacturers presented a coupe of the second generation. The Subaru version retained its easily recognizable appearance thanks to the characteristic line of the side glazing. The front part differed slightly changed design with a wider radiator grille and other headlights, where LED sections appeared. The salon also retained the main features of the previous model. Perhaps the most significant innovations were the instrument cluster screen and the 8-inch display of the multimedia system. Under the hood, there were many more changes. The previous 2-liter engine was replaced with a 2.4-liter power unit with a boxer layout, but with a combined fuel injection system, producing 231 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque. Depending on the version, it can work in "pair" with 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. And again, in the basic versions, there is a differential with increased friction. The chassis also retained the layout of the previous model, but acquired other settings - the car became more rigid. As additional equipment for the coupe with a manual transmission, a complex of electronic "assistants" EyeSight is offered. Depending on the configuration, 16- and 17-inch wheels are standard for this car, which can be purchased in the "Mosavtoshina" online store.
