Tires on Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon (Субару)

The Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon was present in the production range of the Japanese brand from 1989 to 2004. The car was a 5-door wagon, being presented under this name exclusively on the domestic market of the country of the Rising Sun.

First Generation

At the time of the release of the wagon, the Japanese brand had a reputation as a manufacturer of "quirky" cars, noticeably lagging behind its competitors in terms of characteristics and functionality. And this time, the lag was noticeable, mainly due to the lack of V6 and V8 engines. The key external advantage of the wagon was the body design, which was characterized by aerodynamic efficiency. Another feature was the absence of a spare wheel in the engine compartment, which broke the tradition that had lasted since 1966. The wheel discs were attached not to four, but to five bolts, which was due to the noticeably increased power characteristics of the car. The engine range started with a 1.8-liter engine, a row of "four", which developed 102 horsepower. The most powerful versions received a 220-horsepower turbocharged engine with a volume of 2 liters. Depending on the modification, the power units were combined with a 5-speed manual or 4-range automatic transmission, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Another feature of the equipment was the presence of an electronically controlled pneumatic suspension in some versions.

Second Generation

The second-generation wagon appeared in the fall of 1993, differing from its predecessor in a thoroughly revised body design, which, however, retained its stylistic features. The difference from versions for markets outside of Japan was the presence in the lineup of modifications with both full and front-wheel drive. The engine range included a new engine at that time - the EJ20H, which was distinguished by the presence of two turbochargers. One of them added traction at low revs, and the second - power at high revs. The engine, at peak loads, produced 250 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, working in "pair" with a 4-speed "automatic" and the VTD-4WD all-wheel drive system. In 1993, a sports modification GT was created on the basis of this version, which differed in the same "connection" of the engine and transmission, but with more extensive equipment. It included electric adjustments of the driver's seat, airbags for the driver and front passenger, cruise control, a sunroof, natural wood trim, as well as forged 16-inch wheels from the company BBS, which, among other products, can be purchased in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
