Tyre reviews Gislaved Nord Frost 200 SUV 420

Excellent traction on dry pavement at -30 and pretty quiet, I was not expecting that to be honest. Bought these tires based on reviews on the forums and the price. No problems parking in a snowbank). At high speeds on wet pavement, it is very noticeable that the car "sticks" to the road. I am satisfied with the tire and feel that I did not make a mistake with my choice.

Good evening! Great tires! Held all studs throughout the season, despite the car weighing over 2.5 tons! Best value for the money!

I'm going to give a detailed review!
I've already thought that the manufacturer is trying to rip me off. This can only happen in advertising, I'm telling you!
I don't even know if this is a review of the tires or a script for an adventure movie.
I have a Toyota Estima (minivan) with front-wheel drive, ABS, and that's it. Simple configuration - the rest is up to God (sorry, believers, if I offended you). It's not like I'm a road god, but I can feel when to brake. My previous tires were Bridgestone 300 (if my memory doesn't fail me), and it was already the 6th season. Although I knew they had served their purpose, I decided to order Gislaved for the next season.
Then, in March, a trip came up, and I decided not to test fate and put on new tires earlier.
It's like in a movie.
There were 5 passengers. March. Departure - 15th.
We drove 450 km south on a not very well-maintained road (an oil field road) with a speed of 100-120 km/h. The road was covered with a layer of packed snow (not ice), as it's mostly used by trucks, not studded passenger cars. There were three moments when I felt like the rear of the car was trying to skid on turns, but as soon as I made the slightest "shift," it stuck to the road and held its course. I think the weakness of certain body parts played a role in these moments - after all, you shouldn't press the brake when you shouldn't.
Then we drove 90 km on a winter road with different types of surface: packed snow, loose snow broken by heavy machinery (when we exited the winter road, we found out that three trucks had passed before us), and ice with shallow puddles - by the way, the temperature was already around -1 to -3°C. The speed was 25-45 km/h.
Then we got back on the Omsk-Novosibirsk highway and stopped for the night.
In the morning, it was -25°C, foggy, and the road was icy after the thaw. I felt confident on the road in every sense: acceleration, braking, and turns. Up to 140 km/h - forgive me, traffic cops, for avoiding the hands of justice. This was until we reached Novosibirsk. After that, it was pointless to speed: the traffic was dense, and there were cameras every 10 km.
We passed Berdsk, and it was around 0°C again. There were puddles on the road in some places, but everything was fine. As we approached Barnaul, a blizzard started, and snow began to form into longitudinal drifts on the road (sorry, I don't want to look up the fen-shui term for it). In general, I carefully changed lanes during overtakes, and everything was successful and confident, without any hint of skidding or other provocations.
In Altai, the temperature dropped to -5°C, and there were puddles in some places and dry snow in others. I didn't feel any loss of control.
After "Srostki" (maybe someone knows what this settlement is famous for), we turned off the Chuysky Tract and headed uphill. A strong snowfall started, and the speed was up to 60 km/h, as it was already dark, with turns, descents, and ascents. I felt confident in the car on the road. We reached a certain point and spent the night.
In the morning, it was -8°C, and we descended downhill, with signs indicating a slope of up to 12 degrees. The wind was strong - I didn't check the forecast, but there were snowdrifts up to 30 cm and ice on the road, as it had been around 0°C the previous day and -5°C in the evening with snow. The speed was up to 25 km/h on the descents. The tires performed their functions.
We got back on the Chuysky Tract, then drove to Biysk and Belokurikha. The wind was strong, and the temperature was around -7 to -5°C, but there were dry snowdrifts in some places and a layer of slush in others. The speed limit was 70 km/h (locals know), but I drove up to 110 km/h. No complaints. Closer to Belokurikha, there was only dry snow and drifts - I drove up to 70 km/h (maybe more, but I was tense on the road: dense snow, strong side wind, drifts, and poor visibility).
I was 100% confident in the car's handling, although I understand that, like in aviation, there can be human error. I was confident in the equipment.
Verdict. I previously had Gislaved 3, which was great on snow (Toyota Corolla), and Gislaved 5 (Toyota Allion, right-hand drive - similar to Avensis), which didn't handle snow at all, but held the road on dry surfaces. Once, at a speed of 25-30 km/h and a temperature of 0°C, it spun around, and I didn't understand the reason.
These tires, with a mileage of 2500 km over 3 days in various conditions, showed themselves to be 100% reliable. I recommend them, and there can be no other conclusion.
I'm not writing about noise, as all tires make noise at speeds over 100 km/h. And considering that music is always playing in the car, it's not a factor for me.
In general, thank you to the manufacturer - I don't regret the purchase.

Good tyre, holds well on ice, snow and asphalt!
The spikes still come off: I didn't pay attention to all of them, but I noticed that a few were missing.
I drove for two seasons with my Nissan Hikari (HCV cargo) before these Gislaved tyres. Compared to that they are fantastic!
The Gislaved 200 is a soft, quiet tyre that steers well and bites!

I'm very satisfied with these tires! The noise on asphalt is very low (similar to summer) and almost inaudible on snow! Handling is normal, nothing out of the ordinary, they hold the road well at any speed. Lean, skid and recovery are smooth and predictable. Passability is excellent - I drove whenever I wanted. Reaction to sharp ridges is stiffer than expected, probably due to reinforced side walls, or possibly due to the 2.3 atm pressure. In

Excellent tyres. Discount for the used car and its specs (speed, noise, handling etc.). May behave differently on a more powerful vehicle.
The behaviour of the "long" Niva is predictable, good handling on a winter road regardless of its state and weather conditions.

The tire is pretty good! I had to drive on it on dry asphalt, fresh snow, snowdrifts, and ice. We live in Siberia - we get this kind of weather even in December in the south. Compared to the Gislaved Nord Frost 100, it is much less noisy. The difference is quite significant, and I was pleasantly surprised! The tire handles both snow and ice confidently. The only minus is the directional stability. Again, on snow and ice it is

I got the tires with the car I bought in the winter. The temperature was around -40. I got in the car and drove home. It was as loud as an airplane. The tires weren't gripping the road at all. Neither the asphalt nor the snow nor the ice. I had already decided to buy another one, but... I pulled into a tire shop. The mechanic deflated the tires to 2.2 all around (they were at 2.3). I did a

Gislaved Nord Frost 200 SUV 235/65 R17 108T XL (studded) made in Russia. They turned out to be surprisingly quiet, especially after running in. Even on clean asphalt, you sometimes forget that you're driving on studded winter tires. Previously, I had Hakkapeliitta 8 - it was much noisier. From the start of the season, I've driven about 3000 km in different conditions. The tread is soft, with many lamellas, and it handles the road accordingly to the season and weather. The studs are still all in place. Despite the non-aggressive tread pattern without large ribs, it digs well in loose deep snow - I've had a couple of times when I slid on my side on drifts. It's worth its money. As for durability - time will tell.

I used to drive on Japanese brand tires, very popular, I can only compare them to themselves: quiet on ice and snow, not loud on asphalt, don't irritate the ears. Hold better in a turn on smoothed snow and ice. Small mileage, all studs are in place.
