It differed in increased travel and energy intensity, as well as providing a ground clearance of 200 mm versus 130 mm for the "highway" version. Another important feature was the extended track, both front and rear.

Second generation

The second-generation car was presented in 2000, simultaneously with the standard version of the V70 wagon. The model underwent significant changes in appearance, giving it a more aggressive look due to elongated and narrowed headlights and a wedge-shaped silhouette. The key innovation was the use of a platform not from Volvo, as in the previous generation, but from the new owner of the Swedish brand, Ford - EUCD. Another difference was the significant expansion of the use of various electronic systems, many of which are still used today. In 2007, the car underwent a restyling, as a result of which the so-called "flying" console appeared in the salon. In addition, it became a separate model, receiving its own name. After a long time has passed since the production of this model was discontinued, its instances continue to be present on our roads in large quantities, which testifies to their reliability.
