Volvo C40 – an electric crossover coupe that was introduced in 2021. The vehicle is based on the CMA platform, which was previously used to build the XC40 model.

Exterior

In contrast to its internal combustion engine counterpart, the car has been shortened by 69 cm, and its shape has been given numerous smooth lines. This has had a positive effect on its aerodynamic properties, allowing for longer trips on a single charge. The front and rear parts have undergone changes, but the manufacturer has tried to make these changes in a measured way to minimize production costs. Overall, the car has turned out to be quite interesting and modern.

Interior

The interior is almost identical to that of the older model. It features a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen multimedia system that runs on the Android Automotive OS operating system. Like most modern electric vehicles, it allows for software updates via internet connection. The interior can be trimmed in fabric or leatherette, but natural leather is no longer available.

Powertrains

The vehicle uses two electric motors, one located on the front axle and the other on the rear axle, providing all-wheel drive. Their combined output is 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque. A 78 kWh battery is used to power the vehicle, providing a range of up to 420 km. Note that accelerating the over-two-ton crossover from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.9 seconds. The top speed, like all modern Volvo vehicles, is limited to 180 km/h. A key feature is the integration of the battery into the power frame, which has significantly improved overall safety.
