Hyundai Solaris is a compact passenger car, a localized version of the Accent model, produced in China and adapted for use in Russian conditions. The first information about the plans of the South Korean manufacturer to establish the production of a compact passenger car based on Verna appeared in the spring of 2010. Further Development

The model of the second iteration was presented in 2017. It was the result of more than 3 years of development, during which prototype samples traveled about 1 million kilometers in all climatic zones, from Sochi to Murmansk. The car received a new design, which, nevertheless, largely repeated the exterior of its predecessor. There were also enough changes in the technical equipment. One of them was the appearance of a 1.4-liter engine of the Kappa series, which, in combination with a manual transmission, provided the car with much better dynamics when overtaking than its predecessor. The 1.6-liter engine, although it belongs to the Gamma series, also did not remain without changes. It has other pistons, and the phase change system has become double, being located on both camshafts. This led to significant changes in the design of the valve train and intake manifold. As a result, the traction in the medium speed range increased, vibrations decreased, and the possibility of very smooth operation of the gas pedal appeared.
