The Hyundai Genesis was produced from 2008 to 2016. The car belonged to the mid-size business sedans, was developed as a standalone platform for the brand, and was intended for the markets of North America, Korea, and the Middle East.

The interior trim used soft plastic, Nappa leather, and natural wood, and the list of available options included seat ventilation, a 17-speaker Lexicon audio system, adaptive cruise control, and a complex of electronic assistants.

The standard wheels were 17- and 18-inch cast wheels made of a special aluminum alloy. The reinforced central sections and wide ventilation channels reduced vibrations, improved brake cooling, and allowed for a reduction in unsprung mass, which is especially important for a rear-wheel drive sedan.

Second Generation

In 2013, the second-generation Genesis was released, which was more solid in appearance, thanks to the corporate styling of Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. The platform was seriously redesigned: the body stiffness increased due to the widespread use of high-strength steels, and the suspension received a different geometry, which improved the smoothness of the ride.

One of the key updates was the all-wheel drive system HTRAC, which allowed varying the distribution of torque between the axles in a wide range. The system worked softly and predominantly preserved the rear-wheel drive character of the car's behavior, which positively affected handling. Under the hood, there were modernized versions of engines - a 3.8-liter V6 and a 5-liter V8 Tau. They were combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission of Hyundai's own design. In the cabin, the set of electronic systems was expanded: there were functions of automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping, as well as adaptive shock absorbers with electronic control.

The wheels for this generation became larger - 18 and 19 inches, and lightweight alloy materials with increased stiffness were used. Structurally, they received wider ventilation slots, which allowed stabilizing the temperature regime of the brakes during active driving and reducing the risk of overheating.
