The car, which debuted in 1977, was a cargo modification of the HD1000 van of its own design by the South Korean company. The first experience was not sufficiently successful, since the model was already removed from production after four years. The return to the assembly line took place only in 1986, but this was already a different car - a licensed copy of the Mitsubishi Delica of the third generation. On its basis, a whole line of trucks with 2- and 4-door cabs, with open and closed bodies, was created. Part of the components was borrowed from other models of the brand, including passenger cars. The departure from the practice of borrowing began in 2004, when the fourth-generation machine went into series, already developed independently. Already at the start of sales, this was a whole line of modifications, differing mainly in the number of doors of the cab and the length of the wheelbase - from 2430 to 2640 mm. Moreover, the 4-door cab was available exclusively for long-form versions. The car still had a semi-cab layout, while preserving one of the key advantages of its predecessors - excellent maneuverability and ease of handling in urban conditions. Basic versions were equipped with a "atmospheric" diesel engine with a volume of 2.6 liters and a power of 79 hp, and more expensive ones - a modern turbocharged engine with a volume of 2.5 liters with a Common Rail fuel injection system. This power unit developed 130 hp and could be combined with a 4-speed "automatic" in contrast to the "atmospheric" version, which was equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

In 2012, the car underwent a fairly large-scale update. The turbocharged engine was modernized, becoming slightly more powerful - 133 hp. Both transmissions were replaced with more modern components with an increased number of steps. The cabin received a new steering wheel, and the list of equipment included driver and passenger airbags, rear parking sensors, an audio system with steering wheel control, a multimedia system with a 7-inch display and satellite navigation.
