The Daihatsu Mira, produced from 1980 to 2018, was developed by the Japanese company Daihatsu, being a compact hatchback and sedan for urban use. The fifth generation, which started in 1998, received modern 660-cubic engines with an EFI fuel injection system and a catalytic converter, which increased economy and reduced harmful emissions. The equipment included driver and passenger airbags, higher-quality salon upholstery, air conditioning, electric windows, and a CD player, making the urban kei car comfortable even on long trips.
Sixth Generation
The next generation, which debuted in 2002, received an updated platform with a more rigid body structure, a variator, and a more efficient braking system. The equipment became more modern: climate control, ABS, an audio system with CD/MP3, adjustable seats, and heating of the front seats in some trim levels. A version with a retro design and improved salon trim, called Gino, appeared.
Seventh Generation
The final seventh generation of 2006 was distinguished by an updated body design, increased active and passive safety. The engine, after another cycle of modernization, became more economical, and versions with a turbocharger appeared. The salon offered climate control, multimedia systems with an LCD display, electric windows, and a central lock. Also, trim levels with a low-speed automatic braking system became available, making the model maximally safe for urban conditions.
