Шины на Daihatsu Charade (Даихатсу)

The Daihatsu Charade belongs to the supermini class and was produced from 1977 to 2000. This model served as a technological testing ground for the brand for a long time: on a compact platform, engineers worked out fuel-efficient engines, lightweight bodies, and various drive options. Unlike many budget cars of those years, the Charade was designed not just as a "city transport", but as a car that is interesting to drive and easy to maintain - and this was quite successful for several generations of the model.

First Generation

The car that appeared in 1977 immediately became a notable player among compact cars: the manufacturer bet on low fuel consumption and low weight, which was relevant after the fuel crises of the 70s. The lightweight platform and compact dimensions did not prevent the car from remaining practical: the salon was designed so that even with a short base, four people could comfortably fit, and the trunk could be used not only for small things. The main technical feature was the 3-cylinder engines. Despite the small volume, the engines received a fairly advanced design: an aluminum cylinder head, a system with balance shafts on some modifications, and an improved cooling scheme. This was a fairly bold technical solution for its time, which provided good traction at low revs and economy, which distinguished the Charade from its competitors. The suspension used McPherson struts in the front and a semi-dependent beam in the rear. This layout was distinguished by simplicity, reliability, and efficiency, including on poor roads. The body was assembled from thin steel to keep the mass in the range of 700 kg, but the frame contained a large number of high-strength steel elements.

Second and Third Generations

In the 80s, the Charade underwent serious modernization. The car received a more streamlined body, improved anti-corrosion protection, and an expanded range of engines. In particular, diesel versions appeared, including those with turbocharging, which stood out for their very low consumption and decent traction for a car of this class. The gasoline engines received an improved fuel injection system, improved combustion chambers, as well as simplified access to the main nodes, which made maintenance easier and cheaper. The gearboxes were mechanical 4- and 5-speed, later added a 3-speed automatic, which was attractive for its reliability and simplicity. The suspension was reconfigured, making it softer, but not bringing it to a "cotton" state: this was due to the popularity of the model in Southeast Asian countries, where the road conditions were far from ideal.
The interior remained minimalist, offering rigid plastic, large buttons, and a dashboard with a small number of scales. But already on the middle trim levels, a tachometer, improved seats, fabric trim with a denser weave, and additional air ducts appeared. The safety package gradually included seat belts with pretensioners and reinforced deformation zones of the body.

Fourth Generation

In the 90s, the model became slightly larger, which was largely due to changes in safety standards. This led to changes in the body structure. At the same time, noise insulation was improved, and the engine range was adapted to more stringent environmental standards. Versions with multi-point fuel injection, a modified cylinder head with changed channel geometry, and an improved camshaft appeared.

The interior became significantly better: soft plastic, seats with a more pronounced profile, modern architecture of the dashboard. On more expensive versions, you could get air conditioning, electric windows, an improved audio system, and even ABS in some trim levels. The disks were 14-inch as a base option and 15-inch alloy in the maximum versions. Before proceeding to the selection of tires, it is worth noting that the compact size and low weight of the Charade make the choice of wheels particularly important. The assortment of the "Mosavtoshina" online store allows you to choose tires and disks that will preserve the maneuverability of the car and not spoil its energetic character.

Advantages of selecting tires for Daihatsu Charade on our website:

- the catalog takes into account the specifics of a light supermini, offering tires with optimal lateral stiffness, so that the car retains responsive steering even on small diameters;
- options are available for standard 12-15-inch disks, including lightweight models that improve dynamics during acceleration and reduce unsprung mass;
- the selection system will automatically select only correct options for the given model's size;
- specialists will help you choose tires for a specific driving style and operating conditions.
