Tyre reviews Toyo Open Country H/T. Page 5 166

I got the tire and I'm not regretting it at all, the price and Japanese quality. The noise is absent, the car runs smoothly, and it glides through puddles as if they weren't there. Only, when I drive down a muddy road, it immediately gets clogged, but that's also because it's not a 4x4, it's for the asphalt. For ice and snow I gave it a 3 out of 10 as I haven't tried

Ran about 15k km on this tire, minimal wear almost invisible, super tire, no noise, the car rides smoothly, great braking, go through puddles at speed as if they weren't even there, generally, Japanese quality at its best. The only downside is that it gets clogged in the mud, but it's not for off-road use. I'd recommend this tire. Rating 3 of 5 for snow - I haven't tried it on snow yet.

I'm happy with the tire, I'm driving 50/50 on-road and off-road. It handles well on the track and in relative off-road terrain. Over 140 km/h it makes a bit of noise, but that's what you get with an H/T. I'm driving on another set of tires in the winter, but I'll get a set of Toyo's next season.

A bit about the tires. Honest review, no attempt to sell. Size 235/60/18. I bought Latitude Tour HP instead of Michelin. Michelin was for 2 years. Good tire, but not suitable for small dirt roads. Decided to switch to a slightly more aggressive tire. After installation, very pleasant feelings. All seams and potholes in the asphalt are smoothed out. I'm in heaven. Michelin is harder. But yesterday, I was driving on the

Good tire. Noise level is low, aquaplaning not present. Not suitable for off-road driving, quickly hydroplanes. No pronounced directional stability. Slightly worn tread. There is a slight slip in turns on a wet road when the speed is increased.

Great tread, quiet ride, handles well on dry and wet roads. No aquaplaning issues within reasonable limits up to 120 km/h. Haven't tried it in deep mud yet, nor snow, but had some light frost and a piece of the tread touching ice - not great on ice, but it handles ok on a frosty asphalt, no signs of losing traction...

The only downside of these tires is their fast wear. The camber specification for the rear axle was 2 degrees, but there was no zero camber, so the rear end was worn out almost completely by the end of summer. The new front tires had 30,000 km on them, and they were winter tires, but not intended for winter use. I had to drive on snow in the mountains in May, and the front-wheel drive handled it fairly predictably, but it still pulled
