Never used a snow chain, always drove on studded tires. Decided to buy TOYO. There were long doubts about this tire for me. But decided to try. I wasn't disappointed, quiet with good handling. Of course, on the ice, it's better not to tempt fate.
In the snow, it does a good job. For a Moscow winter, it's an ideal tire.

After buying, I thought the tire didn't ice and the ABS worked at times, but after the break-in, it showed itself from the better side (only the break-in period lasted for about 400 km). Only a bit stiff it is, as the nuts were stuck and had to be loosened to the softest setting, and the tire had to be inflated to 2.2 and it becomes uncomfortable otherwise. I drove on GSi-5 (2 sets), now GSi-6. They've become even quieter, and there's virtually no difference with summer tires. The tire is very even in terms of acceleration and braking, both are equally effective. The previous model accelerated better than it braked.

They handle loose snow fairly well, but not as well as the GY UltraGrip Extreme. On pure ice, they hold on a straight road, but the cross-hold is so-so, but that's the same for all friction tires.

They're made entirely in Japan (according to the DOT code, everything matches), the casting and molding quality is impeccable. They were balanced within 15-55 grams, but my discs are already 10 years old, I think on new and even rims the balancing will be even better. I do not recommend for cars without ABS.

The tires performed well on wet snow, this was the first thing we tested on the Astrakhan-Moscow highway, when after Volgograd the wet snow started and ended only near Tambov… there is a little aquaplaning, but if you hold the wheel with both hands, the resistance is almost not felt… on black ice at a moderate speed without skidding and slipping… uphill on black ice is also okay, the engine is a bit strained and there is almost no slipping, except where the ice is extremely smooth... overall, I'm very pleased, I recommend.

Toyo Garit 6 205/60 r16. Durable, a bit stiff. Proved itself quite decent. Drove for 20 years last winter and already installed. No visible wear. Deep tread. Sidewall is one layer of aramid. Experienced black ice a couple of times but everyone was already driving with "chains" so I don't know what's with the neighbor's. Garit KJ in this size is softer and better on ice but doesn't like heat.

Installed these tires on my colleague's car for a "trial" as he was driving on the previous 5th gen Toyo (GSI5). Expectations were generally fully justified, goes confidently in the snow, handles well on the road. No complaints in 2 years, decent mileage, and the car is used as a taxi.

Not much mileage, but I won't forget that for sure. For the price, the tires are fire. For non-studded tires, they're simply super, highly recommended.
