This is my second set of winter tires for my Golf. The previous ones were TOYO GiS5 in size 195/65 R15 - also a "softie". I decided to switch to R17 for winter and since I've already been driving on summer Hankook's for a while, I decided to get the winter version for the set. I would like to clarify that all my previous winters were so-so, with no snow, no ice, and no real winter at all.

I bought it at a discount from old stock and the price was very attractive.
Non-studded tire with a tread pattern suitable for driving in the city. It's not very stable on ice, especially in a slippery track. It lacks grip in deep snow conditions, as the tread depth is insufficient to "dig in". The tire itself is soft, which makes it very comfortable and quiet. It performs well on dry asphalt and wet roads. It also does well in a snowy city mess.

Hankook W310 i cept Evo. Before that, Continental, Michelin.
Mounted on Volvo S60 AWD. Very good on snow handling, as for noise on snow, it's like a normal good winter tire, so I put 4 stars. On wet and dry asphalt it's excellent. It holds well in turns. I would say it's very good quality for the price, at a premium level.

On the tire sidewall in black, in English, it says "M+S", which hints at its all-season application. For me, it's more of a plus, as I was actually looking for an all-season tire, and for someone else it might be an unexpected surprise. Note that the salesman did not indicate this, which is unclear. As for the tread wear, I can't say anything yet, as I've driven very little, but so far I like it.

The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 is that I wouldn't push it to the limit during winter driving. Performance in the snow was very good, only slipping on ice. Wear after two seasons was also very good, still about 7-8mm tread depth on the inner shoulder from the original 10mm.

These tires stuck like a champion. I was pretty comfortable on the snow, they wanted me to get a bit more aggressive than usual. I was driving the Tahoe in moderate and heavy snow conditions at pretty decent speeds. I never lost traction once. On dry pavement they didn't feel wet, and that's good. The only issue with these tires on dry pavement and sharp turns, but that's because they are not designed for dry conditions. They start to whine at high speeds and sharp turns.

This is my first Hankook purchase, aside from the H727 all seasons I bought for my mother-in-law's Aveo - which she's thrilled with. The only issue with these tires, and I should have known when I pressed on the sidewall before they were installed, is that they're too soft for my taste. I've only had Bridgestone LM-25s prior and those were good, harder sidewalled tires, close to my summer T1Rs. This leads me to
