The Rotalla S500 tire is designed with the specific features of the climate of northern regions in mind, which are characterized by frequent temperature fluctuations and a large amount of precipitation. The model stands out for its combination of reliability of traction and coupling properties on snowy and icy surfaces with comfort of handling.

The tire tread has a directional pattern with an pronounced "arrow-shaped" rib in the middle. The large width and V-shaped arrangement of the grooves contribute to the removal of water, snow slush and thawed ice from the contact zone. This reduces the risk of aquaplaning and improves directional stability when driving in unfavorable weather conditions. The rigid central rib, consisting of interconnected blocks, stabilizes the behavior of the car during straight-line movement and provides accurate transmission of efforts when steering.

The shoulder areas of the tread are reinforced with large blocks with a multitude of sharp edges — thanks to this, the tire demonstrates confident traction during acceleration and effective braking even on rolled snow. When maneuvering, these elements create additional lateral traction, increasing the stability of the car on turns.

The key technology of the model — Snow Grip Sipes, implements a system of "three-dimensional" lamellas, which form thousands of sharp edges of traction. The shape of their vertical walls prevents excessive displacement of the tread blocks, maintaining the stability of the contact patch during dynamic loads. This solution is especially effective on icy surfaces, where ordinary lamellas reduce the resistance of the tread elements to deformation.

The rubber mixture composition includes highly dispersed silica, which increases elasticity and traction at low temperatures. The addition of natural oils and polymeric binders allows the mixture to maintain flexibility even at frosts down to minus 40 degrees Celsius, as well as reduces the internal rolling resistance, which contributes to fuel savings.
