The construction of the Volzhsky tire plant, which produces tires under the Voltair brand, was completed in 1964. For 46 years of its existence, the plant has been the largest domestic enterprise in the machine-building industry. It has 17 patents for its own unique inventions, several trademarks that are known in more than 30 different countries, and has repeatedly received international-class awards. Since its founding, the plant has been accustomed to bearing the title of leader in its field. The enterprise was one of the first to begin mass production of tires for cars such as the "Niva" and "Zhiguli". In addition to the production sphere, social work was actively carried out at the Volzhsky tire plant. New housing, kindergartens, and schools were built for workers and their families. Much attention was paid to the entertainment sphere and recreation, namely the active construction of children's health camps, sanatoriums, and recreation centers. In 1992, the Volzhsky tire plant was transformed into OAO "Voltair". In the following years, the enterprise was able to become one of the first to switch to processing without losing production volumes. The beginning of the 21st century is characterized by numerous modernization works and reconstructions of the enterprise's workshops. Since 2004, the company has become a holding of OAO "Voltair-Prom" enterprises.

OAO "Voltair" has been awarded many prizes and awards. Among the most significant ones are the diploma of the contest "Best Russian Industrial Enterprise" (1997), the diploma "For effective activity and high results" (1999), and 2 silver medals at the international contest "Best Tire Manufacturers" (2000).

Today, OAO "Voltair-Prom" is a leader in the production of radial and diagonal tires for agricultural machinery. The enterprise daily produces 15,000 tires for passenger and freight cars, agricultural transport, heavy-duty trucks, mining, road, construction machines, as well as trolleybuses and buses.

The company's designers have developed more than 80 models of Voltair tires. The Volzhsky tire plant was one of the first to master the production of tubeless tires for trucks and passenger cars.

The winter line of OAO "Voltair-Prom" tires includes more than 30 different models of tires, both studded and non-studded.

Voltair tires combine high quality and moderate cost, making them an attractive option for all car enthusiasts. Thanks to the use of lamellar technology, excellent traction with various types of winter road surfaces is achieved. The specially designed tread pattern improves the braking qualities of the car and minimizes skidding on snowy surfaces.
