Barum

The Barum brand is not an independent entity, it belongs to one of the German automotive concerns, in this case - Continental AG. And to this day, this concern is one of the most significant tire manufacturers for vehicles on the planet. Tires of this brand are produced at the production facilities of factories located in Otrokovice - a city in the Czech Republic. There are also several factories located in Austria, Germany, France, and others.

In fact, this brand is not the only one at Continental that is responsible for the production of tires, since it also founded the more famous Michelin brand, which is used by a huge number of Formula 1 racing pilots.

From History

The company originated in the 19th century. At that time, one of the Czech industrialists, Bata, decided to open a factory near the city of Brno to produce shoes. However, as it often happens, soon the production had to be reoriented, and quite radically - from then on, the industrialist produced car tires.

He was not satisfied with his own research in this field and decided to send his workers to the factories of giants such as Pirelli, Michelin, and Continental under the guise of emissaries. A year later, Bata was already able to establish the production of his own tires, no worse than those of his competitors. Moreover, under his wing, he managed to unite three companies at once - Rubena, Bata, and Mitas. As a result, the Barum brand appeared.

Some time later, at the end of the 20th century, this company was successfully acquired by the Continental A.G. concern and today the brand continues to produce about five hundred modifications of tires. Every year, the conveyors of the company's enterprises in all countries where the factories are located produce sixteen million tires. More than a third of this volume is immediately redirected to automakers so that they can equip their cars with them as basic equipment.

Tire Diversity

The winter non-studded tires of this brand have a directional tread pattern, which ensures very good traction with the road surface, even if it's icy asphalt or a section covered with several centimeters of snow, dirt, or slush.

Barum tires have a reduced risk of aquaplaning, and they are also optimal in terms of quality and price ratio.

The updated version of winter tires has an improved contour and is equipped with an optimized lamella scheme to drain water and dirt from the contact patch with the road. The tread on the Norpolaris model was specially developed using computer modeling, and the rubber compound contains silica and a significant amount of natural rubber.
